Oyster Bay ladies are in love with Brad Pitt

This isn’t the first time this story has come up (I wrote about it a few weeks ago), but People.com is reporting that Brad Pitt is having quite the effect on the ladies of Oyster Bay. They make reference to the fact that the style around town is generally quite casual but causal is being tossed aside in favor of high heels, nice outfits, and better hair and makeup than might be normal for everyday outings.
A local told the magazine:
“The moms are trying to look a little bit more polished. Instead of schlepping in sweat pants and messy hair, now they wear designer jeans and high heels, which they never wear. Usually it’s Tod’s or Gucci loafers. Everyone is putting a little more effort. Let’s face it – he’s a handsome guy.”
According to the write-up, not only is Brad doing drop-off duty by taking the kids to school, he’s even been going into Shiloh’s class (so that answers the question as to whether or not Shiloh is in preschool yet!) to read books to all the children. I know that at their age the kids don’t give a hoot about things like celebrities, but it will be fun for them when they’re older to say that a top movie star read to them in preschool!
As to his demeanor when he’s in the school, “Brad sits in the back of the classroom a lot. He is very unassuming and very sweet and nice.”
This isn’t a surprise to me! The people around Oyster Bay are also thrilled that instead of sending staff out, it’s Brad and Angelina themselves doing things like going to Dunkin’ Donuts and Stop & Shop.
The locals also got to spy George Clooney when he dropped into town to have lunch with Brad recently. Women were screaming and hoping they would run into George if they hung around – he IS a bachelor, after all!
It must be a lot of fun to live in a relatively quiet town and end up with major celebrities walking around!

HA, I would be doing back flips, but I don’t know if even Brad Pitt could make me wear high heals all the time.
People seems to have added a couple of cute details about the story telling, which is adorable and that he is “sweet and nice”.
It was cool that George went out to visit him. Seems Brad is being very low key and staying close to home, not venturing into the city unless he has to. Thanks.

Very cute story. I can’t wait for Cannes.. I week. Brad will do a few interviews and I’m sure the reporters will ask about he and the family. I just want him to give a little information about Angie and the kids. They always own the Cannes Carpet. Last year was so much about Angie and her films. Brad was there to support. So I see Angie doing the same thing. Love this family. Great to see some postive stories out there among the crazy dumb lies.
Brad is so sweet. According to “People” Angie will join Brad at Cannes this year. Can’t wait to see them again.
I know how those ladies in Oyster Bay feel. George Clooney comes to my town every once in a while! But I can’t imagine Brad Pitt also being here. I would go ga ga.

yahahahahah. Funny story about those mums car pooling and running after George Clooney. I’ve just got to wonder what life must be liked to be the object of so many fantasies.
So people reported that Brad and Angelina are both going to be in and out of the Cannes Festival. Great. Should be fun to see the chaos on the RC again.
OMG! hahaha! they sure are lucky, i mean just having Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as your neighbors are sure making everybody’s world go round and round! LOL!
Brad is really sweet, making sure Shi is not alone while its her first time at school.. oh well, our 2 yr. old is also at school now and we make sure that she’s with someone, just to make her feel at ease.. of course you have to be there because school is a new environment.. but kids are all alike and they will make sure that before the day is over their all friends..

aww… the story of Brad going in to Shiloh’s class and reading book is just heart melting. i can imagine how happy he must be seeing her daughter growing up so fast and is now attending pre-school. though i think it would really be cute to see photos of the kids attending school, i am happy that they’re able to do normal things freely and not under the lens.
JM, thanks for that article. Angie obviously had a great Mother’s day with all those gifts she got from the neighborhood and from her family.

Nice story Sherry. Would love to be inside the mind of Brad, Angie or George. What they must be thinking when all the people are fluttering around them. I am sure they realize without the fans they would be nothing, but I am sure that some must act really nuts in front of them. If I ever ran into a celebrity I know I would be very happy, but would try real hard not to point fingers at them and act silly.

Hi, Faye88, I read somewhere that Moneyball will start shooting in LA in June. I don’t know how reliable it is,though.
And according to Ligaya who lives in Oakland Money Ball will film in Oakland SF Bay Area. Since the movie is about Oakland baseball team they will shoot game scenes in their stadium.
I also read Brad reportedly will be in Steve MCqueen biopic.
The report says shooting will start late this year but it doesnot say any other information. May be grain of salt story.

mysmichelle- Thanks for posting that! I’ve been wanting to see all the Angie and Brad tabloid covers from 2005 to the present, just to see just how many times they’ve recycled rumors. Obviously this spread is by no means all of them, but at least it’s satisfied my curiosty!
Anyway, up until looking at this spread, I had not seen the most recent Out of Touch cover, about Brad and Jen being back together. My view on it: It makes me want to throw up! Normally I can just laugh off the tab rumors, but this time they went way, way, way too far in my opinion.
I also found out a few interesting facts I didn’t know for sure. For example, that rumor from this past December about them adopting from Ethiopia claimed the adoption would take place on Christmas. That’s interesting to me because that isn’t the first time the tabs have claimed a Christmas adoption. Back in 2006, when rumors were floating around that the J-Ps were adopting from India, the tabs claimed Angie hoped to have the new child home by Christmas.
I also hadn’t seen the “Brad Takes the Kids!” cover from last week (May 11). I had to chuckle at that one as, according to US, the actual “story” in that issue of Out of Touch was that Brad took the kids on a one day trip to Niagra falls.
Well, even that was only partially correct, as he only took Mad and Paxie. I also had to laugh at the one about from May 4th about Brad moving out of their house in France. Uh, newsflash, Out of Touch, the J-Ps aren’t even in France right now, and haven’t lived there for several months!
Speaking of which…Why do the tabs seem so fixiated on Chateau Mireval? I mean, they seem to just ignore the J-Ps other homes!
Another one that made me laugh and shake my head was the December one about Angie being pregnant again. Um, did they really think she’d be pregnant just five months after having twins via C-section. Most doctors advise you to wait 12 to 18 months before getting pregnant again after a C-section to allow your uterus to heal. Also, Angie is NOT Britney Spears, Out of Touch!
On another note, some of those covers are so badly photoshopped that the pictures don’t even look like Angie, Brad, or whicever one of them is on the cover!

and he was with his kids eating ice cream apparently. no pics yet but maybe that’s a good thing
Mary- The story is adorable indeed! I subscribe to PEOPLE and just recieved this week’s issue in the mail today. In it was this story about Brad. One thing they said in the article that I loved is that apparently the locals have seen them spending “family time” on the weekend. According the locals, they have been seen “walking on the beach together, just being a normal family,” (note: I’m paraphrasing here, as I can’t remember the exact quote) on the weekends.
I loved hearing that, because, with that statement, the tabs have been proven wrong yet again! I mean, that hardly sounds like a couple who is about to break-up or has broken up (depending on which tab you read)!
They also mentioned that Knox and Viv haven’t been spotted out (before saying that, they mentioned the eyewitness accounts of seeing Angie, Brad, and all the other kids at various places, so they were obviously just answering the question that they knew many readers would have.
)…and referred to them as “Knox and Viv”.
I think it’s adorable that they call Viv by her nickname!
UNDER MOD- Response to Mary, and my thoughts after reading the full article in PEOPLE magazine.
Oh, and I also love that PEOPLE made absolutly no mention of all the ridiculious tab rumors in the article. I like it when PEOPLE debunks the tab rumors, but I like it when they refuse to acknowledge the tabs even more!
One other thing…In the full article in PEOPLE magazine, it says that Brad often takes the kids to visit Angie on the set of Salt. So, now the question of whether or not the kids are visiting Angie on set has been answered!
I was happy to hear that not just because it answers that question, but because it means that the kids have managed to visit mommy at work without having cameras shoved in their faces!
kimmy- I don’t like how E! handles things regarding the J-Ps either. I mean, it’s E! that Ryan Seacrest works for, and we all know how disrespectful he’s been of Angie!
I actually prefer ET’s handling of the J-Ps (okay, that just sounds wrong somehow!) even though Mary Hart really stuck her foot in her mouth when she announced the “birth” of the twins almost a year ago (at the end of May 2008)!

What a cute story. Shi is a lucky little girl. Maybe she stays close to her dad while he reads the stories. She sure is a little bit shy to be around new, unknown children and therefore it´s important that she has her dad near. But she´ll get used to the other children soon. The mothers sure are thrilled to see someone so famous as Brad bringing his daughter to school. But he´s a normal dad doing everyday chores just like any other parent. Pretty soon it´ll be Angie´s turn to bring the kids to school (Mad & Pax) and preschool (Zee & Shi). So they take turns. God bless the Jolie-Pitts!
