Three Angelina Jolie BBC interview video clips

Angelina Jolie talks to the BBCAngelina Jolie spoke with the BBC and there are three great clips up on their site. In the first clip, Angelina talks about the struggle behind her decision to take on Changeling and speaks highly of Clint Eastwood who was part of her reason for taking the role. He truly sounds like a dream director.

In this clip, Angelina explains the decision to sell their baby photos. I’m glad she addressed it because my goodness, I am so tired of reading and hearing the snark about that. The reason that she gave for her and Brad Pitt deciding to sell the photos is pretty much what I’ve been saying all along.

She also talks a bit about how much she’s changed since her younger actress days. I like how the interviewer said that it’s hard, sometimes, for other people to look at her when she’s a movie star and remember that she’s just an ordinary mom at home.

Of course, I also like that while Angelina agreed with her but said that she likes to think that a lot of people, especially other mothers, can see through the glamor and see that she’s not that different in the end.

In the other clip, Angelina discusses why she might stop acting for the chance to be with her children as much as possible. She also laughs about the future when she’ll be a grandmother and says that she just like being home and that she feels she has a big responsibility to her children more than anything else.

What did you think about the interview?

Angelina Jolie pushes The Envelope

Kung Fu Panda screening at Grauman's Chinese Theater

I’m really enjoying the discussion post - as always, I have the best readers here at PittWatch because other than an occasional drive-by comment full of nothing but useless nasty snark (and luckily you don’t have to read it!), it’s been extremely civil even though not all of us agree with each other. Please come drop by and keep the conversation going!

In the meantime, here’s something a little more positive than the new issue of Vogue - how about the new issue of The Envelope with Angelina Jolie! Put out by the L.A. Times, The Envelope covers Angelina as a mother, mentions her humanitarian visit to Afghanistan, her work on Changeling, and her feelings on Hollywood vs. the rest of the world.

“I don’t dislike it here. I just really do love to travel. I love other cultures. And I love raising my kids in the world. I’m so fortunate that I get to do that.”

They also point out that being a celebrity is Angelina’s second job - after motherhood: “The center of my life is my kids.”

When asked about her role as Christine in Changeling, Angelina said:

“Christine fought so hard under such incredible circumstance for the rights of other women. It was a real story that I thought sent a positive message about what you can accomplish. About democracy in action.”

The Envelope says that it seems that she’s had a string of mother-centric roles lately, but Angelina said she thinks it’s got less to do with the fact that she’s a mother herself, and more to do with her age, and that once you get into your 30s there are more movie roles for women that revolve around family interactions.

(Still, right though she may be, I personally think that her incredible love of being a mother translates very well for her roles.)

If you aren’t in the Los Angeles area and can’t pick up your own issue of The Envelope you can read the article right here.

Discussion post: Angelina Jolie is “very uncool”

I want to preface this post by saying that I had no intentions of writing about this topic, mainly because this is a Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie website. It is not, on the other hand, a Jennifer Aniston site. While she was married to Brad for a long time, she is not a part of his life anymore and I have little reason to write about her; that goes all ways. I don’t make a habit of writing about Gwyneth Paltrow, Juliette Lewis, Billy Bob Thorton, or anyone else they were involved with. I write about Brad Pitt, I write about Angelina Jolie, and I write about things that involve the two of them.

However, I can’t remember the last time I’ve had my inbox overflowing. So many people have emailed me to ask what I think of the new Vogue cover where Jennifer Aniston declares that Angelina Jolie was “very uncool” in regards to her comments to Vogue a year or so earlier when she said that she couldn’t wait to get to work on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

I am so hesitant to delve into this topic because I don’t want a war to explode in my comments, but ask and ye shall receive. Let’s discuss it then.

Brad Pitt gets pushed around at private screening

Brad Pitt chaos at private screening

Update: I’ve been able to update this story as new details have come out.

Brad Pitt attended a private VIP screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, in order to attend a special question and answer session with the audience after it was over. When photographers saw that Brad was actually there, they rushed forward, hurrying to try to get photos of him.

While Brad seemed to be fine with the photographers, it generally created enough of a commotion that security had to step in to escort the photographers out of the building. In the confusion, one security guard grabbed Brad by the arm and spun him around, pushing him along with the crowd.

Kid Correspondents talk Kung Fu Panda on the red carpet

I love seeing and reading interviews of my favorite celebrities, but it was even better to see ET’s kid correspondent interviewing Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, and Dustin Hoffman on the red carpet at the DVD release on November 9th. She was such a little pro, and did an excellent job.

You could tell they enjoyed talking with her too. I think my favorite part was when Dustin Hoffman asked her how she got her job and she shrugged and said, “I don’t know!”

Another kid correspondent from The Insider then challenged each of the stars to a kung fu staring contest and even asked Angelina Jolie if she thinks she should win an Oscar for Changeling - talk about tough questions!

And finally, no kid correspondent, but Access Hollywood interviewed Angelina Jolie on the red carpet where they discuss the movie, the kids, and even Obama.

Angelina Jolie’s Kung Fu Style

For the fashionistas here on PittWatch (Melodie, I’m looking at you!), here are the details on Angelina Jolie’s simple but stunning style on the red carpet at the Kung Fu Panda DVD release in Los Angeles yesterday.

KUNG FU PANDA DVD PREMIERE

Her 3/4 sleeve black mini-dress is by Ralph Lauren, and instead of her usual Christian Louboutin heels she chose to wear Stuart Weitzman heels. I love the dress. I really, really love the dress, but those shoes are just killer.

I also like that she didn’t wear a ton of jewelry, because it kept her look so simple. Yet, even without the jewelry and even with fairly minimal makeup, she looked absolutely stunning. It just proves once again that Angelina always wears the dress.

The Envelope talks Oscar nods

If you live in the Los Angeles area, you may have heard of The Envelope, which is put out by the L.A. Times.

The new issue comes out on Wednesday November 12th, and it features a gorgeous picture of Angelina Jolie on the cover. You can see a sneak peek here:

Inside they’ll be talking about the “big O” - the Oscars. With Angelina on the cover and Oscars on the inside, obviously there is still some buzz about the possibility of Angelina being nominated for her role in Changeling.

I’m not sure if The Envelope is available outside of the general L.A. area, but if you’re local you can keep an eye out for the issue this week. For the rest of us (because I know there’s no way I’ll find it up here), we can hope their website will have at least some of the article posted online.

(Thanks, niemiec idiota!)

More photos of Angelina Jolie on the Kung Fu Panda DVD red carpet

Can we ever get tired of looking at beautiful pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie? No, I don’t think so.

Kung Fu Panda DVD Release Party

Which is why I have even more photos of Angelina Jolie on the red carpet for the Kung Fu Panda DVD release. I’m still reeling over the minidress. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t mind one for myself, assuming I had somewhere fancy to wear it.

Angelina Jolie answers kid questions at Kung Fu Panda release

We may not get to see the Jolie-Pitt kids very often these days, but at least we can hear about them!

Kung Fu Panda DVD Release Party

While Angelina Jolie was busy looking absolutely radiant at the Kung Fu Panda DVD release in Los Angeles today, she was also happy to answer some questions reporters had about her growing family. People.com reports that Angelina mentioned the four-month-old twins are getting “very smiley”. She said that Knox and Vivienne are at the age where some of their specific personality is starting to show more than a newborn’s does.

I think my favorite part of the article was when Angelina said her kids have Tigress dolls because they love Kung Fu Panda so much and are so proud. Who wouldn’t be? Angie’s character was pretty badass!

At the release event, Jeffrey Katzenberg of DreamWorks also donated $1 million to Conservation International, which is an organization that works to save and protect pandas and their habitats. In regards to that, Angelina said, “We are so privileged in everything we get to do in this business, and the amount of money this film has made. To be able to share that and do some good always feels good.”

No matter what project she’s involved in, it seems that good deeds happen everywhere Angelina Jolie goes!

Angelina Jolie at L.A. Kung Fu Panda release

Angelina Jolie at the Kung Fu Panda DVD release

Today in Los Angeles, DreamWorks released the DVD for both Kung Fu Panda and the bonus release of Secrets of the Furious Five. While that is great in and of itself - we can all go buy our copies! - the better news is that Angelina Jolie showed up on the red carpet at Grauman’s Chinese Theater for the event!

Angelina Jolie at the Kung Fu Panda DVD release

Angelina looked incredible in a plain black mini-dress, some really nice heels, and a mega-watt smile. Every time I see her she looks even happier than the last time. Family life is obviously agreeing with her, even if she has to pause in between to do her promotional duties on the red carpet.

Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black were also around for the release.

Who’s going to buy Kung Fu Panda and Secrets of the Furious Five on DVD? I can’t wait! My youngest is too young to sit in a theater so I know she’ll enjoy seeing it here at home.
