Great Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie red carpet photos

The NOLA screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button went on last night, and as always Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie looked amazing on the red carpet. While I’m a big fan of tuxes for super fancy events, I think Brad looks great in just a regular (though very nice!) suit. And Angelina! That dress was so beautiful and classy.

Here are some of my favorite photos of Brad and Angelina on the red carpet in New Orleans.

New Orleans screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Much to the delight of the folks in New Orleans, Brad Pitt did indeed hit the red carpet for his NOLA screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Angelina Jolie looking stunning by his side.

All the non-hat fans will be pleased to see that Brad looked very sexy in his suit and tie - without a single hat in sight!

Meanwhile, Angelina ditched the dark colors she’s been wearing lately to step out in a beautiful white dress with buttons up the back. Buttons for Benjamin Button?

They both looked gorgeous as always, and much to the disappointment of the tabloids, they looked completely happy to be there together.

Check out the gorgeous photos of Brad and Angelina on the NOLA red carpet over here and stay tuned for more photos of them here on PittWatch!

In the meantime, don’t forget that Brad will be on the Today show on Tuesday morning and then on Ellen on Wednesday!

Brad Pitt makes the cover of Architectural Digest

Brad Pitt has been on so many covers in his life - reputable magazines and tabloids alike, including being on covers with the title of Sexiest Male. I’ve got to say though, he must be so proud of his latest cover. He’s on the cover of the new Architectural Digest thanks to his work on rebuilding New Orleans through Make It Right by creating sustainable and affordable green living for the residents of the Lower 9th Ward.

Inside, Brad says, “I couldn’t believe nothing was going on. [...] I recalled the pictures of people on roofs, begging for help and I couldn’t believe that this was our America.”

I’m not sure how widely this magazine is available, but it’s the January 2009 issue and you can check major news stands for it if you’re curious in reading the full story. You can also see Brad Pitt on the cover of Architectural Digest over here. What with architecture being such a pride and passion for Brad, I’m so happy to see him on this magazine!

Benjamin Button on the red carpet in New Orleans?

According to NOLA.com, tonight there will be a special invitation-only screening of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in New Orleans. The article is from Saturday, and they were still saying that it was uncertain as to whether Brad Pitt would be on the red carpet or not.

However, we now know that the Jolie-Pitt family is indeed back in New Orleans so it’s definitely possible. The arrivals are scheduled for 6 pm with a pre-party, then the screening at 7 pm. If it all wraps up by 10 pm, Brad could definitely still get enough sleep for his Today interview. I’ve heard that Ann Curry is supposed to go to New Orleans rather than Brad going to the studio, so he wouldn’t even have to try to catch a red-eye flight to fit it all in.

Thus, be sure to come back later to see if there are any red carpet pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at the NOLA screening of Benjamin Button. If he’s in town I can’t see him skipping out on the event!

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and the kids come home to New Orleans

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie must be happy - this weekend the Jolie-Pitt family came home to New Orleans. Although they seem to enjoy Europe, they’ve frequently said that they love New Orleans more than any other home base. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that they get to live a bit more of a normal life (such that it is) there. Yes, people still take their pictures, but you don’t seem to see throngs of cameras following them everywhere.

As a result, Brad was able to go for a motorcycle ride (see here and here). I love motorcycles anyway, but add Brad Pitt to the equation, and it’s even better!

Angelina Jolie takes Maddox out to buy toys in New Orleans, L.A

Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie took Maddox Jolie-Pitt to Little Toy Shop in New Orleans to do some shopping. They made some purchases while they were there. I wonder if they’re Christmas presents from Maddox to his siblings or if they were just some “just because” toys - those are always fun to get!

I wonder if there will be any kind of special DVD launch for Wanted which comes out on Tuesday; I didn’t expect a big red carpet event for the Kung Fu Panda release but there she was, so you just never know!

In other news, Brad Pitt is supposed to be on the Today show on December 2nd as well. There had been some questions as to whether it was a live appearance or a previously taped segment but if they’re state-side, there’s a good chance it will be live.

Angelina Jolie’s Wanted released on DVD and Blu-Ray December 2nd

Wanted released on DVD and Blu-Ray December 4th

Tuesdays are always great days for people who enjoy renting or purchasing DVDs - this Tuesday, December 2nd is a great day because Wanted will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. People who weren’t able to see it in theaters can rent it and those who loved it can buy it.

Wanted released on DVD and Blu-Ray December 4th

I can’t wait to see it again. It was such an exciting movie. As far as any sense of realism is concerned the entire film is pretty much impossible, but seriously there are days you don’t want realism. It’s nice to watch a totally action-packed movie and suspend what can and can’t work sometimes. And if action is your thing, Wanted opens and closes with plenty of it.

I will definitely be picking up a copy for myself!

Happy fifth birthday to Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt

Although he’s only been with the Jolie-Pitt family since March 2007, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt is turning a whole five years old today, November 29th. I can’t believe how big he’s getting and I’ve been enjoying seeing some of his exuberant personality coming through as he’s adjusted over the past almost two years to his new family. When he smiles, it’s easy to see how happy he is.

Enjoy the video clip featuring a ton of beautiful photos of Pax and his Jolie-Pitt family (song is “Beautiful Boy” by John Lennon). He looks like he’s such a fun little character.

Happy birthday Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, I hope all your birthday wishes come true!

Friday Flashback: Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie - Memories of Us

I love this video of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as it follows them throughout the early part of their journey together. It features some great photos of Brad & Angelina and their kids.

The song is “Memories of Us” by Keith Urban and it’s such a great accent to their story.

Also, check out the kids! Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh were so small (Pax, Vivienne, and Knox weren’t even a part of the family yet).

I love Brad and Angelina videos like this, it’s fun to look back - I wonder if they expected to have three more kids by now at that time.

Happy Friday Flashback!

Happy Thanksgiving from PittWatch!

I would like to wish all the American PittWatch readers a very Happy Thanksgiving! Although I don’t know exactly what Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are doing for Thanksgiving, I know they have a lot of things to be thankful for over the past year.

They can be thankful for the love they found with each other, for their six beautiful kids, for movies that have gotten excellent reviews and Oscar buzz, and for causes they’ve supported. Brad should be very proud of and thankful for all the good things he’s done in New Orleans through Make It Right, while Angelina can continue to be thankful for the opportunity to bring attention to the plight of refugees in third world countries around the world.

Whatever they’re doing, I know they’re spending Thanksgiving the way it should be - with their family.

Have a great holiday!

(I can’t tell you how much I wish I was celebrating Thanksgiving today, even if we did have ours up here in Canada last month!)

Benjamin Button keeps pulling in the glowing reviews

So far it’s been one good review after another for Brad Pitt’s upcoming The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I’m sure there are some less-than-shiny reviews somewhere, but I haven’t seen them. Overall it seems that everyone who has attended special screenings has found the movie charming and wonderful.

Variety has a particularly nice review about the movie.

This odd, epic tale of a man who ages backwards is presented in an impeccable classical manner, every detail tended to with fastidious devotion. An example of the most advanced technology placed entirely at the service of story and character, this significant change-of-pace from director David Fincher poses some daunting marketing challenges, even with Brad Pitt atop the cast. Strong critical support will be needed to swell interest in this absorbing, even moving, but emotionally cool film, which is simultaneously accessible and distinctive enough to catch on with a large public if luck and the zeitgeist are with it.

What I found particularly telling is the part where it’s mentioned that the movie is just under three hours but the time passes quickly anyway. If a movie can run that long without making you want to yawn and check your watch every ten minutes, if you don’t start asking, “when is this going to be OVER?!” then it’s a gripping story that pulls you in. Apparently Benjamin does exactly that.
