Paramount Wants to Trade Out Tom for Brad

by Christina on September 20th, 2006

This is quite the story - as I am sure you have heard, Paramount Studios recently dropped Tom Cruise, due to his insanity (my word, not theirs, but do you blame them??). Now we have a Mission Impossible IV, with no Tom Cruise. What to do?

Rumors have it that the studio is preparing to offer Brad Pitt a massive sum of money to star in MI IV, so massive in fact that it will be the most an actor has ever been offered for a leading role.

Think he will take it?

I’ll believe this one if he signs on the dotted line. So far, I have yet to see this reported anywhere reputable. So far it has only been mentioned in the trash blogs and tabloids.

I like both Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, as actors.
Tom Cruise is wacko, but his acting is top notch. And Brad Pitt is so watchable. I wonder how marriage has affected him as an actor. You would think he’d have more depth and wisdom in those eyes.

    Thanks

I didn’t mean you, Christina! :) So far, his reps and Paramount are denying this story. The infamous “industry insider” is always a suspicious source.

I can’t imagine that Brad would want to take on this franchise, but I’ll be the first to admit if I turn out to be wrong.

I love both Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt but I think TC has been getting to much of a bad rap lately. There are worst people in hollywood than someone who jumps on a couch and professes his love for a woman and someone who makes a stupid statement reguarding postpardum. But for some reason America overlooks this and is taking pleasure brining ths man down. We can forgive stealing, adultry, bigotry, liars and liars and liars but we continue to act as if TC committed the crime of the century. I am a woman and a mother of 2 and I can tell u not all woman out there are in agreement with Brooke, women should be warned about the side effects of PPD drugs. Wether BP takes over the role of TC in MI won’t matter because he’ll still get paid from producing credits and for developing the franchise so all of u who suddenly hate him so sorry when someone has a good heart u can never bring them down.

If and when B. Pitt signs the dotted line, I’ll believe it. What not to sign for that amount of dough?. We thought 007 is just for Sir Connery. Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan were both successful as 007. Brad should give it a try if offered. He is hot right now. “Strike while the iron is hot.”

I’d rather not see Brad in a Mission Impossible film. Tom Cruise was great in MI. Could they not develop another franchise? Or make MAMS into a franchise…

    yeah… i agree with ann.
i don’t wish brad will staring in MI IV. he should do some oscars movie and not the blockbusters type. but, it’s still okay if he wants to do that, but please not MI. I see tom’s character is still too stong fo MI

I don’t think BP should take this offer from Sumner at Paramount. Last week, I saw on 20/20 that this Mr. Sumner is in his 80’s, but yet tries to act like he’s in his mid-30’s. Mainly, because he exercises all the time. They mentioned about how he has fired every CEO in his company, especially if his new wife told him to. So, the way I see it, is that this President of Paramount is alittle wacky right now, and BP could end up getting signed on, but then once this Sumner feels like it, he will just fire him because he’ll feel like it or maybe even because of jealousy. He even fired his own son as a CEO, because he favored his mom’s side during their divorce instead of his dad’s. So go figure, this man is not the type of man to get a job with. His mind is too unstable, especially with this wife no. 2. So, I personally don’t think that BP should get involved with Paramount, no matter how many millions he gives BP. If BP does go to work for Sumner, then he’ll regret it in the end. Bottomline !!

Viva brangelina!! Brad can do any kind movies he wants It takes an actor to nominate let alone to win an oscar. He has one oscar nomination and success in bluckboster. Tom is the same. I love Brad . Even though he acts good I never liked Tom . But now espeically after he apologized to his mistakes. his public figure is finally looks like in rehablitaion and the the his upcoming wedding going to put him in spot light and everything going to look like atleast ok for him if he able to keep it that way.

    Sandy,
i agree with you that brad can go bothways.
but, you know, i myself could not picture out brad in MI movies. even though if he finally doing it, i bet he will do and look very good.
The image of tom in MI is just too strong.

But i hope brad never do any movies like troy again. oh! that’s a flop. i lost my appetite on him in that one. well, at that time, he was still married to that whiney woman, rite? *lol*

so, since now he has a better personal life i think his proffesional life will getting better too.
