  Before leaving with her new son, Pax Thien Jolie, the actress left a message in the orphanage visitor’s book.

  “Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my son,” she wrote. “He has been with you for years. I’m sure he will miss your beautiful caring staff as much as you will miss him.”

  How is the name PAX pronounced? PASH? Beautiful, I can see how he stands out and has a very clear look in his eyes. She’s really carving out a different way of being in America, and showing love to all people on this earth. MAY THEY ALL BE IN PEACE!

  Why did she change his name though? He’s more than old enough to know his name. It’s going to be very confusing for him. Not only will everyone be speaking a new language, they won’t be calling him by his own name?

  Pax is pronounced exactly how it is spelt. Like the word “Tax.”
  It’s a First Declension noun in Latin, feminine gender, it means “Peace”

  I really commend her choice of name! Latin is a beautiful language. She really has an eccentric brood when it comes to names now:
  Mad, Z, Shi and Pax.

  RE: Changing his name to Pax,

  This happens everyday when immigrants come to America. Those who went through Ellis Island all got their names changed by immigration officials, sometimes arbitrarily. As well, Maddox was not born “Maddox,” nor was Zahara. Name changing is nothing uncommon even amongst Americans (The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, Madonna, etc), so I don’t see why Angelina is chastised for giving her a new name.

  Kudos to Angelina for being such a great role model. At just 32, she’s created an international family by adopting from places where kids truly need a good home.

  Pax is Latin name,it’s mean “peace”….and Thien is Vietnamese name,it’s mean “sky” in Eng….Pax Thien that’s mean “peace sky”–>nice name…

  I think thae difference is the fact that Zahara and Maddox were infants and not old enough to know their own name. “Pax” is. He is coming over here to a whole different world and they have changed to only word he will understand here. Prince chose to change his name as an adult.

  W.O.W angelina is truly my icon.She really knows how to show the world that there is more to it than just the red carpet.I think that there should be more people like her in this world because she the most caring celeb in Hollywood.
