Photos of Angelina Jolie in L.A. to sign deal for “The Tourist”!

October 16, 2009 by Sherry

jolie-pitt-photo-linkWow! It looks like the stories were true! Over at X17Online there are (totally beautiful) photos of Angelina Jolie in Los Angelessee them here! She flew in so that she could sign a deal to do the upcoming spy thriller The Tourist, with her replacing Charlize Theron.

It looks like the movie has also found its director because X17 reports that Angelina was walking with director Lasse Hallstrom – they imply that he agreed to sign on when she did. That goes to show that people know that if Angelina is in a good action movie people will flock to it, so directors want to work with her whenever they can.

Finally, it mentions that after she signed the deal – flying in solely for that reason, she then headed back out on a flight to an “unknown destination”. That means that she may be heading back to their home in the South of France or she may be off on another UNHCR mission. Only time will tell.

I’m so excited by this news! And doesn’t Angelina look gorgeous and happy?!

I think the focus how many nannies Angie has is focused on too much. All of the celebrities have nannies. Why all the hype over how many Angie and Brad have is not important to me. I am sure they have what they need in order to care for their family. I do not pay attention to the tabs. They are only trying to sell magazines or stories. All the kids look healthy and happy, Brad and Angie look happy and healthy. All is good!!

Today around 1:30 pm, while walking in the French Quarters in New Orleans I saw Anjelina Jolie. She was wearing a black scarf around her face with a large brimmed hat, she was also pushing a bicycle. I came face to face with her, I didn’t have time to speak. She giggled when she realised I recognised her. I was with friends, they saw her as well.

I was correct. The man in the photo was not Lasse Hallstrom. And she will not do Wanted2. The report says Angie’s name in the leading role got film financiers and everything went swiftly.

In a move that puts Angelina Jolie starrer “The Tourist” on track for a February production start, director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck has emerged as the top choice to direct the Spyglass thriller.
While von Donnersmarck hasn’t formally entered into negotiations yet, studios are expected to begin jockeying for the film that is likely to be ready for a 2011 release.
Jolie is poised to make “Tourist” her next project over several other offers, including Universal’s sequel to “Wanted.” Spyglass came to her weeks ago, but her participation was contingent on finding the right director. After meetings with several helmers, von Donnersmarck was deemed that guy on Friday night, insiders said.
If a deal comes to fruition, “The Tourist” would be the first for von Donnersmarck since the German helmer’s 2006 breakout “The Lives of Others,” which won the Academy Award for foreign-language film.

Amy- I was referring to the fact that Lies and Sh!t keeps claiming that the twins are allergic to everything, not the claim about them having had colic when they were younger. :)

Anyway, I agree, Kati. Lies and Sh!t also seems to have forgotten that Angie breastfeed the twins for the first three months of their lives (and she made it pretty clear that the reason she stopped was because SHE was having difficulty nursing two babies at once, not that the twins were having problems.). From what I’ve read, babies who are allergic to cow’s milk generally have problems with human breastmilk, too.

Even if a baby with a cow’s milk allergy doesn’t have problems with breastmilk specifically, they will still react to the cow’s milk proteins in the breastmilk from the milk their mother drinks.

Anyway….This week, Lies and Sh!t is claiming that Angie has “confirmed” there are two more J-P babies on the way (I’m assuming that what they actually claim in the “story” inside the magazine is that one of those infamous unnamed “sources” told them that Angie has confirmed to her family and friends that two more babies are on the way. I seriously doubt that Lies and Sh!t actually has a real confirmation from Angie!)! This makes what, about the 10 millionth time they’ve done that?!

And I’ve noticed it’s always something like “two more babies!”, even before Angie got pregnant with Knox and Viv!

Catching up on JP news after being away on vacation. I was hoping there would be new pics when I got back. Thanks Sherry!! I am definitely looking forward to seeing Salt & this new movie.

Here’s the latest news about Angie and The Tourist from Variety. Looks like Lasse Hallstrom won’t be the director. Credit at Dulcinea at JJB.

The Tourist is remake of French thriller “Anthony Zimmer”. The locations of original movie were mainly France (Nice etc).
Right now the variety says Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck is the top candidate to get “The Tourist”. His “The Lives of Others” won the 2007 Oscar for Foreign language film. It was a film for intelligent adults and not mass-pleaser. If he accepts this job the movie will be a little bit different from typical HW thrillers. If everything get well happy Sony are planning 2011 release.Sony really wants Angie for her global appeal.
I like Theron but the reports say that she is not strong enough to draw financiers and moviegoers. This is my personal thought. She may not do Atlas Shrugged, either. I’m afraid Atlas Shrugged can be used for anti-Obama campaign. And her new agent Emanuel’s brother works for Obama. She and her agent probably planning another project for her.

Thanks, Faye, for the Variety link. It confirms there are talks, but note how nothing is finalized. It would seem that in the movie business there is little assurance these days. The reporter is careful to word all facets of the potential movie as a maybe. Should it all be finalized it would put Angelina back to work just about a year after she started Salt.
