Pitt Furious Over Rain-Drenched Photos Appearing on Vanity Fair Cover

by Robyn on November 1st, 2006

brad pitt on vanity fair cover

That hawt video of Brad Pitt being rained upon in his boxers was never supposed to show up on the cover of Vanity Fair. Pitt posed for an avante guard photographer, thinking he’d be part of an exhibit, but Vanity Fair obtained the photo rights and Pitt is pissed (pardon my language).

… lawyers are currently considering legal action against the magazine, insisting the actor had no idea he was going to appear on the December cover. Pitt is seen posing in a blue colored photo in nothing but white boxer shorts, socks and holding a gun while appearing to be drenched with water. According to entertainment website Tmz.com, Pitt had agreed to be in Wilson’s avant-garde video art project in September and signed a legal release at the time for the still and video images taken in the shoot, but had no idea they would ever be used for a magazine cover.

Yikes, guess even Vanity Fair can be underhanded…

I had wondered why he was upset. Now I can understand.

I love Brad (and Angie), but he should not have signed a blanket release for the photos without consulting his lawyers. I doubt there is little they can do now.

I’m thinking that is not like him. I think he usually has his lawyers check things carefully - just from past incidents. Oh well live and learn

I did not realize that he was holding a gun too. When I was watching the video from Laineygossip, Lainey described the video as freaky but I cannot hear it very well on my computer. Even if the lawyers see the release at that time, Vanity Fair had obtained the photo rights so they can do whatever because his signature was on the release. I guess, there should be a clause that this will be used for _______ purpose only whatever purpose he wants it to be “art exhibit?” Isn’t this his hair cut during Mr. & Mrs. Smith?

Brad should be more upset with Wilson than VF. Wilson is the one is had the agreement with.
