Pitts Won’t Adopt In India
We went back and forth on this one, with me thinking they were going to adopt and most of you thinking it was a rumor. If it was just a rumor, it is apparently still one that’s getting bandied about. Today we are seeing articles that are saying Jolie has abandoned the adoption because she fears the legality will be questioned and can’t bear to go through that with a child.
Britain’s New magazine source continues “Angelina was so saddened. When people start questioning the legality of adoption, of whether you’ll be able to keep the child, it gets into a territory that’s just heartbreaking.”
Of course, Madonna’s mean comments didn’t help either:
“Look, I could have joined the U.N. and become an ambassador and visited various countries and just kind of showed up and smiled and looked concerned” says Madonna (gossips say this is an Angelina Jolie slam) .
“But that’s not getting to the root of the problem-and by the way, neither is building orphan care centers and giving people food and medicine. But it’s a start. I’m saving people’s lives. And whether I have earned the right to do it, or the respect of people who think I may not have the right to do it, is completely and utterly irrelevant. And in any event, no, I’m not interested in going in there like a dilettante and being an idiot and going ‘Ok, I’m going to build 10 orphanages and I’ll see you guys later!’”
This comes on the heels of Pitt praising Madonna’s adoption efforts. What do you think, rumor or not rumor?

These events are somewhat confusing. Brad said nice things about Madonna’s adoption because Brad is naturally a good person. Madonna I think may be she is jealous of Angie’s status as a U.N.representative / ambassador. That is why this is confusing since she went to dinner with Brad and her husband in London while Angie stayed at the hotel with the kids when she was pregnant with Shiloh. According to Laineygossip Madonna is friendly with Gwen though.

I consider any stuff from the tabs as rumor, unless the Jolie/Pitt publicists confirm

There were several reports that Angie had something to do with Madonna’s adoption. Wonder if she’s trying to distance herself from them?
Her adopting David was the first thing I’ve liked about her in a long time, and part of me liked it because I thought Angie had a hand in it. Guess I can go back to being annoyed with Material Girl. ;)

I don’t think it has anything to do with Angelina. I mean, Brad and her and Guy are all frinds, and they know she gives money, time and resources to all different countries. I think her comments were directed to several other “star” or famous people who just show up and smile.

I think the articles are rumor. Brad and Angie only answered to People’s magazine with their rep. If they want to adopt a baby from India in the first place, People would likely get the scoops from the couple.

Not true that Brad and Angelina were going to adopt an Indian baby. According to Indian Law no unwed couple may adopt. The tabloids invented the story.
Not true that Angelina had anything to do with Madonna’s very badly prepared adoption. They do not know each other, in spite of their men being friends.
True that Madonna is jealous of Angelina (younger, beautiful, respected…)and made some spiteful insinuations about Angie’s humanitarian work.
True that Brad defended Madonna’s adoption of David. He’s a good guy.

It’s a bit of a side issue, but I think it must be really hard for Madonna to see how Angelina is viewed and how naturally generous she is. I wonder if she is struggling with getting older and wants fame for something worthwhile for a change…

Well done and summarized. I don’t think Brad will say anything bad to anyone. Think of Michael Douglas, Donald Trump, etc. to name a few who expressed insult words to them. George Clooney however, have all praises for him. Saying, that Brad is very smart and an amazing father. To Angie, he said, “I met Angie, and she is very beautiful, and I like Jen too.”

Just want to clarify. The reports that Angelina and Brad had anything to do with Madonna’s adoption of David are false. Madonna on Oprah and ExtraTV said that Brad and Guy are friends but she has never met Angelina or spoken with her.
Also the initial rumors of Brad & Angie adopting from India came from a British tab and then was picked up by Life & Style Magazine. Again completely false. Every country they go to they are followed by adoption rumors.

I agree with both Sienna and Sarah. Furthermore, the adoption of David was ill-prepared and bears little resembalence to Angie’s. (Angie adopts from countries with existing laws - ones that can’t be circumvented or bought, nor does she adopt children with living parents, or present herself as a “good Christian woman”, or build orphanages as monuments to her religion).
Anyway, I think the politic thing to do is say that one’s intentions were right and leave it at that.
All the rest are rumours, imo.
