Reminiscing - Mr. & Mrs. Smith
I had the urge to watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith this weekend so I thought I’d dig up some video clips for you. It’s always fun to see new movies with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie but it’s just as fun to reminisce a little bit and go back in time.
This video uses the song “Express Yourself” (not by Madonna as I had originally expected, but a song by Charles Wright) and shows clips of Brad and Angelina from Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
And you know, THE scene, the uncut sex scene:
What a movie. Sometimes I wish they’d do a sequel and other times I think they could never top this one anyway.
Happy Sunday!

Thanks Sherry that kind of spiced up the weekend. Looking at this video and thinking of recent photo’s of Brad and Angie I feel like their looks reflect now a couple who have found complete happiness. They appear to be people who having children has completed their lives. I believe that their will be more children in the Jolie-Pitt family. Hoping that we will see both Brad and Angelina this week on the red carpet. If they do as they have always done, they will pack up the whole family and go. Grammie and PopPop and what ever nannies and bodyguards needed to help out. No time like the present to practice moving around with a large family.

This is so funny. Fay (Tropical Storm) hit my city and my power was out for two days. When it came back on, I cleaned the yard, and then watched MMS. I do so love this movie. It makes me feel good. There are so many scene that just do it for me. 1)The morning after they first sleep together, the way he looks at her…Gosh you can feel the heat through the screen…2)First dance scene.. so sexy 3) The Sex/Fight scene..It was a bit of both to tell the truth..HOT HOT HOT..
I would love to see them on screen together again. I just think the expectations would be to great to overcome. No matter what, they nor anyone could live up to the hype. I am going to post this every time. Fans of Brad/Angie need to make sure they get out and support their upcoming movies. Brad’s Burn After Reading…Angie’s Changling..Brad’s Curious Case of…./
It is not enough to say you are a fan. Go see the movies too.

You gave me a great ideea! I will watch mr and mrs smith again, because today I made the “mistake” to watch Gia (fist time to see the movie!) and I cannot stop crying :( The tragedy of her life combined with the depth of Angelina Jolie was devastating for me. I can’t immagine how she could play Gia and get over it. If just watching it had this impact on me, then, my God, how must have been for her. Just now I remember har saying in an interview that after Gia she stopped acting for a while. Or was it after Lisa? I will watch that interview again to see wich ine was it. Had anyone here felt the same after watching Gia?
Sorry if I’m off topic, but you’re the only ones that I can share this with. Hugs and kisses!

Oh, yes! Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! ;-)
Thanks, Sherry. Happy Sunday (and the rest of the week) to one and all.
My usual pattern with DVDs of my favoritest of movies (MMS, anything Angelina, Star Wars) is to watch them every day for weeks, then every week for days, once a month, finally tapering off once every 2-3 months. I’m just that way. :-) Just saw MMS after a couple of months off.
Since I got my Alvin and the Chipmunks DVD, I’ve been watching my favorite parts daily - like the little details of the chipmunks giving Dave his xmas presents. I just love Theodore, and watching the 3 chipmunks is like happy medicine. Kind of like listening to the Mamma Mia soundtrack. :-)
Something I saw or read this week made me want to see the love scenes between Anakin & Padme in Star Wars again.
So which movie is my first line from and who said it?

What a co-incidence, I just watched Mr. & Mrs. Smith ( misses them ) & earlier was the interview from Actor’s Studio, my first time to see the whole segment of the interview. I really admire Angie more & more, she answered all the questions very honestly & intelligently. MMS is my favorite movie of all time, I really do hope, they still can make another movie together, they can ask Grammy & papa to watch the kids while they are working together. How about Atlas Shrugged? I can’t wait on the 27th for the red carpet, do you think Angie will be walking the red carpet with Brad? Knowing them, it’s always a surprise. they keep you guessing. My bet, Angie will be there to lend her support to Brad as a loving partner. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

Bah humbug to all those that say mean spirited things about Brad and Angie! I believe that they are soul mates who finally found each other, and who will always be together. Bless them both and their beautiful family. I am sure they are rasining their kids to be proactive philanthropists such as they themselves are. BTW, they are a pretty HOT couple and talented as well!

Last month, I watched “Mr & Mrs Smith” and “Fight Club” and this month I watched “Troy” and “Interview with a Vampire”. You know, you need to watch them once in a while.

Ligaya - Ah yes. That would be “When Harry Met Sally”. “I’ll have what she’s having!”
:)
My favorite line from the Alvin & the Chipmunks movie (my kids request it regularly) is when Dave is shocked that they got free, and Simon says, “We’re talking chipmunks, Dave. We can get out of a cat carrier. Not even hard to do.”

I doubt Angie will join Brad at the red carpet, given that she breastfeeds on schedule feedings. I hope that I am wrong on this one, because I am dying to see them together.

Angelina and Brad are so inspirational, and so are many others.
OT: Many of us in the U.S. will watch the Olympics Closing Ceremony tonight on tape delay. What’s always inspired me from the 1964 Olympics on is the best of the Olympic spirit. They’re not always the ones who medal. This is about a young woman from Somalia, the country next to Ethiopia - the kind of country Angelina would visit on a UN mission.

OT: the olympic creed has always inspired me in how to live my life and how to weigh my worth -
Coubertin’s ideals are probably best illustrated by the Olympic Creed:
“The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.”
[The Olympic Motto is “Citius, Altius, Fortius,” a Latin phrase meaning “Swifter, Higher, Stronger.”]

I still haven’t seen Mr and Mrs Smith. I really want to see it even though my academic friends have told me it’s a dumb action movie. But I am way behind on a PhD, teaching a gazillion courses, and so no time yet. Soon…
However, watching that love scene between Mr and Mrs Smith… it’s incredible, you can actually see the passion between them. It’s not acting, or acting so good it’s truer than life. I remember my sister told me, when she saw it, that some of the ways in which Brad was looking at Angelina, you could tell he was totally in love with her. It’s true. And no wonder the Daily News had a headline after this came out that said “Jen, Don’t See it !” The passion between them is unmistakable.

Mr and Mrs Smith is also one of my all time favourites. I have seen it so many times on HBO and I have also got an Unrated version of the movie with this “hot” scene. I agree that the love chemistry between them is so obvious, especially the way Brad was looking at Angie in the movie. I’m glad they found each other.

my fave MMS quotes:
Jane Smith: [after shooting through a wall at John] Still alive, baby?
John Smith: Come to Daddy.
Jane Smith: [after she bashes him with a teapot and headbutts him] Who’s your Daddy now?
hubby’s: Benjamin: [locked up in the back of the van, in a bewildered voice] “Who are you people?”
Jane Smith: [yelling] “Shut up!”
Jane Smith: You really expect me to roll over and play dead?
John Smith: Well, you should be used to it after five years of marriage.
Jane Smith: Six…
Marriage Counselor: How often do you have sex?
Jane Smith: I don’t understand the question.
John Smith: Does that include weekends?
Jane Smith: [dancing with John, he’s just finished searching her for weapons] Satisfied?
John Smith: Not for years.
Jane Smith: What’s her name and social security number?
John Smith: No, you’re not gonna kill her.

Irma, what a co-incidence too. i watched MAMS yesterday and i keep repeating the fight / s.e.x scene. i love the unrated version of the movie because it’s more detailed on how the relationship was falling and it’s more funnier (i think).
Ligaya, i can’t see your fave quotes because i think it’s under mod but my fave would have to be when John Smith told Jane that she looked like christmas morning and Jane told John that she thought that he was the most beautiful mark she’d ever seen. (i hope i got it right.)

ligaya, i haven’t read your favorite MAMS quotes yet.. but since you started it, here’s mine..
John: Damn. That boat in La Paz is lookin’ pretty good right now, isn’t it?
Jane: Well, it rains a lot this time of year.
(John smiles)
Jane: There’s nowhere I’d rather be than right here with you.
(John smiles again)
Jane: Shut up..

It’s not so much a favorite line, but one of my favorite parts of the movie (other than, you know, the whole thing!) is when they’re racing off the in minivan and they’re telling each other all the lies that they’ve made up over the years, especially when John is shocked to find out that she’s an orphan and her “parents” at the wedding were just actors.
I also love when she swings the van around and takes out the car, and when John opens both side doors and throws the guy straight through and says they really DID come in handy. :D

Fashion Week Daily EXCLUSIVE! Brad Pitt shoots cover of W!
(NEW YORK) Several Hollywood sources exclusively confirmed to Fashion Week Daily that Brad Pitt photographed Angelina Jolie and brood at the Chateau Miraval in the South of France last week for the November cover of W. This is Pitt’s inaugural turn creating a cover, although photography has been a longtime hobby of his. Not only did he appear on the March 2007 cover of Interview wielding a camera, Jolie reportedly gave him a Littman 45 single camera as a birthday gift. This marks the second time W has scored a highly-coveted Pitt/Jolie exclusive. In 2005, the magazine ended months of speculation when Pitt collaborated with friend Steven Klein to create a photo portfolio of Jolie and Pitt in the feature “Domestic Bliss” from the July 2005 issue.

I love that movie!!! One of my favorites.
YAY LOVE QUOTES!!!
Ligaya has some great ones that I love too. And yes Sherry the scene in the minivan is awesome too.
Jane: (at her assistant) what the hell was that?
her assistant: what you said bye.
Its not really a quote but I love the 5 or 6 years thing.
John: Careful Jane I can push the button anytime
Jane: Baby you couldn’t even find the button even if i handed you a map.
Jane: Garden Party girls.
I like the scene where Jane found John’s guns and takes them all. And when he finds out.
Eddie’s mom: EDDIE!!!
Eddie: MOM WE’RE ON HIGH ALERT I AMOST SHOT YOU
Eddie’s mom: nevermind.
And the scene right after the s.e.x.
Neighbors: we heard a lot of noise. x]
There’s plenty more!

OMG, I want it all. Thanks for the heads up, Mary Ann. I think I’ll start with the Star Wars blanket and the “a long time ago…” pillow.
How come they only have a boys room? Girls are fans too - they want to be Princess Leia and have Luke and Han Solo as their admirers.

I love! love!M&MS so much I keep both the clean and unrated version in basket by my couch so I can just see their faceses on the cover. I love the look in brad eyes before he kiss her by the window, I think he was gone, he was in love, he was captivated by her, I just laugh nonstop,I have never seen that on flim. Their destiny collided and there was nothing that they could do to stop it but see where it leads, I find my self, which i never do about stars, begging god to bless and keep them togather forever.
