Rep for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally denounces split-up rumors

I swear to you, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie just can’t win when tabloids and haters want to believe that they’ve split up. If the two are separated for work purposes or aren’t seen together for awhile, then the headlines start to scream that clearly the couple has broken up.
But then when we DO see them in France having dinner, on the red carpet at Cannes, and at the after-party for Inglourious Basterds those same people sneer and say that they’re just doing it for the cameras, it’s all a media stunt, it’s not real.
That right there is exactly why Brad and Angelina ignore the tabloids, because what exactly are they supposed to do?
One of the biggest rags, the National Enquirer re-visited the rumors this week and went so far as to say (via unnamed “sources” of course) that Brad and Angelina were planning to make an official split – that Brad would film in L.A. and the Amazon all summer, Angelina would retreat with the kids to France, and that Brad would see the kids whenever he could. They also inexplicably said Brad and Angelina would make appearances from time to time. I can only assume that this is so they could cover all their bases, that this would be a way to explain why we would still see them together.
I guess that enough was finally enough because according to People.com Brad and Angelina’s rep has formally denounced the split-up rumors as absolutely not true.
Fans already knew this – I mean really, the Enquirer? Seriously? But it’s nice to have the official word out there at last so when people crow about it they can just be pointed to trustworthy sources.

Caroline1965, I think everybody remembers that vacation between Brad and JA, but as jpfanatic pointed out, the difference was that Brad and Angie have always been plagued by the rumors since they’ve been together, and I think now, there’s more at stake—their children. They’re definitely 6 good reasons to come out with a statement. Also, many remember that a couple of years ago, the couple (specifically Angie’s rep) came out with an official statement denouncing a break-up. I think it’s better to ignore the tabloids, too, but I don’t mind the rep’s statement. Mary Ann explained that the children would encounter these rumors, i.e. the various tabloids displayed on the stands or grocery aisles. I do wonder how Brad and Angie are able shield them from those nasty headlines when they go to a regular grocery store.
Neela,007 I agree with you both, every week we keep resorting to the same old tired stories, so I just got SICK OF THE WHOLE THING, now I just let it be, I love them in my heart and let it be, I somtimes get mad and cuss and then my post get MOD SO I GAVE UP.

Cindy…..its a TAB – seriously what do you expect?the triangle is their best selling chance – its a shame, for all three of them. the best is just to ignore the TABs, i do ignore all, even people…..if you guys say its a “good” tab then ok – but still they can know all. i hope nobody feels offended….

phoebe- I am a PEOPLE subscriber, and I don’t consider them to be a tab. They are primarily an entertainment magazine, but they also often publish “real world” stories (for example, when a bunch of peanut products were recalled earlier this year, PEOPLE ran a story on it. They’ve also run stories on people living with disabilities, animals, and even things that mostly hit the more “mainstream” news. I can count on the fingers of one elbow the number of tabs that do that. Also, PEOPLE is wrong maybe 5 percent of the time, if even that.
Phoebe- Other than what you said about PEOPLE, I agree with your comment. That said, I know this is a tab we’re talking about, but I STILL can’t believe that any tab would think that Brad would want JA back. I mean, really, how often do people (both celebs and non-celebs) go back to their exes, especially after they’ve moved on with someone else?
Also, I know this sounds kind of mean, but I really don’t want JA to ever become the stepmother of the J-P kids. I can’t really explain why this is (I’m not a fan of JA, but I don’t dislike her either.).

joliepittfanatic, i think jackie explained that part. she mentioned that a rep can be her lawyer. it could just anyone in her tight circle i think, but not necessarily a publicist.
Well my comment must have struck a sore spot because why would you defend against it? My Uncle did see her reps about a home here and you know what, it is what it is. I live in Portugal and this is our side. If your all so adamant they will survive why be so hostile and aggressive ? It’s kind of absurd why you have to defend something you feel is the truth! I did say I hope the rumors are not true. As for Stella at JJ, I have no idea what that means nor do I care too.
People, this is a blog not the written word of God or El Shaddai, please get a grip. I’m sure Brad and Angie would want you all to calm down…they’re people not Gods.
Let’s focus anger and aggression towards people and their plights for the fight for life and Civil rights like Angie would want. Not if her hairs been sprayed to the left…
Stella, it’s just that it gets tiring having to hear rumors abound, and as another poster stated, even more bothersome when doubt and the stirrings of a possible rumor arise from the fans themselves. We come here because it is a relatively positive site.
I expected you would take offense, and I don’t blame you; that’s what happens when views are challenged and some like me tend to be honest. I’m not very good at sugarcoating my opinion, especially at 3 in the morning. You also can’t blame some of us. This is a case that we’ll have to agree to disagree. As I said, even people who live in Philippines believe what they believed, and that turned out to be false, too. I really don’t understand why it’s absurd to defend something that we believe to be the truth when it is the truth. What’s wrong with that? I’d rather believe the direct mouthpiece from Brad and Angie’s camp, who has already confirmed the rumors are false. Tabloids or Brad and Angie???? Hmmm. I think it’s a pretty easy choice.
You’re right, this is a blog, hence, we can say whatever we want with civility and rationality. You’ve aired your side, and we’ve aired ours. We don’t have to come to an agreement. So, let’s just leave it at that. I can only apologize for how I expressed myself with regards to your opinion. I suppose I could have been less abrasive, so, I apologize if I rubbed you the wrong way. But I am not going to apologize for my opinion. It is just that: an opinion. You’re entitled to yours, and we’re both entitled to challenge each other and be decent sports about it.

So, we can say whatever we want. We’re entitled to our own views, and we’re also entitled to challenge them. We don’t have to come to an agreement.
As another poster mentioned above, it just becomes more bothersome when the worries and, to me, the stirrings of a rumor arise from the fans themselves. There’s no absurdity in defending the truth; Brad and AJ’s mouthpiece confirmed that the rumors are indeed false. So, why read into that further? That was the point of some of the posts here. The tabloids or Brad and Angie??? Who to believe? I’d say the choice is easy.

Stella: we’ll just have to agree to disagree. Our opinions are just that: opinions. It’s just a blog, as you put it, so, it’s perfectly alright for us to express our different views and challenge them, too.
Its sad that they felt the need to respond to these purile stories but I am glad they did.
I have to say the British magazine Grazia is the worst. Even worse than NE. I don’t know what Grazia would do if they didn’t write about the so-called love triangle. Even when they have nothing new to say on the subject they will find a sillly reason to attack Angelina. The other week it was some new ‘Bizarre’ skin-care regime they alledge she took up to look ‘fresh’ for Cannes – it’s so silly.
I find the Jolie-Pitt’s inspiring. And this site too – it’s good to have a beacon of positivity in amongst all the doom merchants out there…
