The reader question was in reference to the Esquire article in which Brad says:
Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able

Us Weekly twisted the whole thing and say that Brad and Angelina are not going to get married until everyone else tries it first. Stupid magazine. They can’t even interpret what Brad was saying.

Ha ha ha - what a bunch of dingbats. :) I am not really sure what I think about this quote, I can’t decide if he is just putting off the media (very possible) or if he really is taking up a new cause. It is just interesting, I guess, cause I haven’t heard either Brad or Angelina comment on the subject of gay marriage at all before. I guess we will see. ;)

I knew it. The tabloids will interpret this political stance as something more, more negative. See how they fabricated the New Orleans photo that “Brad and Angie were fighting when Brad called JA while they were at the restaurant and Angie stormed out.” Whew, these mags will be bankrupt soon. I hope, I hope. Brad and Angie want equal rights for all. They are intellectuals and too deep for some audience. They have more class too, no PDA.

Christina, I think it’s a bit of all that you said. I know this will sound goofy, but the only problem I have with them not is I hate the stuff going around that he’s using it as an excuse NOT to marry her and some see that as a sign that he had more respect for Qwyneth and Jennifer since. I know it sounds silly, but it bugs me a bit.

He obviously supports the right of Gay persons to marry, but I believe what he said had two purposes: a. To show support for the issue. b. To get the media off the marriage subject. When Charlize Theron said it, she was under a media fire storm as to when she was going to marry her BF. She uttered that quote, and bam all stories about marriage ceased.

I am a little disappointed. I am a huge Brad Pitt fan, but I wish he would marry Angie or she would agree to marry him. The children already have his name so that it good. I do not think gay marriage will be a reality anytime soon in this political climate. Does he support marriage in any situation… i.e. polgamy, underage marriage, marriage to a dog. Maybe it is me, but I have become less obsessed with him as whole after this comment (probably a good thing). I may not pick up the Esquire mag either. I do think they are both the hottest celebrities on the planet and that JA did him wrong.

I think he said that so people would stop asking them about the marriage question. With the promotion both have for their movies it would have been, when are you getting married?, when are you getting married? And I think also to show his stance on the issue. So it was sort of like killing twwo birds with one stone.

Oh! and I forgot to add that I personally have no problem with it one way or the other. If the get married good, if they don’t get married that’s good also. As long as they’re happy that’s the only thing that matters.

Personally, I think it was an off the cuff remark to get the interview of that track. It’s leading and so ambiguous it could mean anything…kudos Brad. I hope he is able to keep their life private.

I’m not a big Brad fan, (Johnny Depp is QUITE HOTTER!) BUT thats okay too, if he and Jolie don’t tie the knot right away. She is such an AMAZING, QUITE TALENTED, AND EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL actor, and person. You can tell that she is down to earth, and not SNOOTY and stuck up like chinnifer. She is truly a CRUSADER. Hang in there Jolie! You are truly above all these other idiots, that gab! gab! gab! and never accomplish anything in life. Keep on crusading, and working on your next OSCAR. Everyone knows that marriage is quite scary, especially if you’ve been married before. Take your time, and don’t rush in to anything. OH! And, don’t even be the least little bit jealous of Brad’s ex (ms. chinnifer). She could never compete with a woman of your caliber and status. Keep working on the positive things in life. You deserve it!!

I was very disappointed when I read this on MSN. One of the things I like about Angelina is that she keeps her mouth shut, mostly, about political issues! Let’s face it, stars usually are so liberal it’s ridiculous! I love Brad Pitt but if he said this—and meant it, it changes how I feel about him. I lose repect for celebrities who voice liberal political opinions!

I think it was a very clever way to get the press to stop hounding him about his relationship, which, from the looks of it, he and Angelina want to keep quiet for now.
Even when I look at them in photo, even together, they seem to be evading the camera. They give them just enough, but they always seem to want to control the expose, which is really smart. So smart, I read an article recently about how Angelina Jolie has pioneered a new way of dealing with the media. She doesn’t even have a publicist but she’s been able to quality control for her own image very well.
I don’t think anyone will know about them getting married until after the fact and I think it should stay that way. Too much media exposure was no good for the other marriages either of them had, so this is obviously too special for them to live in the media spotlight. Good for them.

Tolulae, I think the article you are talking about came from the Wall Street Journal. Angie is a very smart woman to manipulate the press. For example, she announced her pregnancy through People Mag and gave the scoop publication money to the Hele Haiti charity.

You are sooooooo accurate Pearl! Every word you said was true! That is why Rosie’s TV show is gone!!! Sure she’s on the View, but I really think that eventually they will kick her out! Sincerely!!!! As for BP marrying AJ, well for right now, it is just toooooo scary for the both of them. BP just got out of one (AND AMEN FOR THAT TOTALLY BAD RELATIONSHIP!! Especially, when the rag tag mags are always stating that she is always calling him up.) Now, I do have to state that I REALLY DON’T BELIEVE THAT HE IS ALWAYS CALLING HER UP! What for, like, “Hey Jen, what are you up to?” I TELL YOU, THOSE RAG TAG MAGS ARE SO DESPERATE FOR THE PUBLIC TO BUY THEIR MAGS! WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS!!!! Like he has time to call her all the time, when he has several projects in the works, 3 kids, and 1 amazingly GORGEOUS WOMAN BY HIS SIDE, not to mention the movies that he will be making, and starring in. YEAH RIGHT, LIKE HE’S REALLY CALLING THAT LITTLE CRY BABY!!!!! This is my 2 cents on this one. If you write a book BP in the future, several chapters will probably deal about his love life…from Robyn Givens,Christina Applegate, Juliet Lewis, Gen P, Jennifer,Angelina and who knows the others that we
don’t know about. The public will never know the
real reason why these relationships did not last
except from hearsay, rumors and hunches. I have
gathered facts from the various media and seen
interviews of some of his past women. Robyn G.
said on tv that he is a dependable person who
will make a great dad. Robyn and B were quite
young and starting careers then. Is this the reason for the split? May be. Gwen P. told Vanity Fair (3 years after their split) that Brad broke her heart when he walked out of the relationship when she wanted to set a date. Unknown real reason to the public why Gwen & B did not make it. Fact: Gwen went out with several guys before Chris M. She dated Ben A., Luke W, etc. Then of course came JA and the rest is history. There must be a valid reason for B to leave a relationship. When u see pictures of him with JA in Anguilla walking & kissing by the beach,
Then 3 to 4 days later, announced their split. I think that was the goodbye kiss. It was mutual. Suspicion: He wants a family, she was not ready. If B is not a “public person” these things are quite normal reasons for any man. I feel sorry (may be they are not sorry) for the women in his past but life goes on. Their chapters have been read. We will never understand the real reasons. Nobody can figure out what works or what doesn’t in a relationship, whether you are a celebrity or not. People change their perspective in life. They break each others heart but they move on. B is no different from the rest of us.
He is just another human being who is working at
a relationship from moment to moment. Nobody
is perfect.
