Rumor Mill: Did Brangelina Tie the Knot?

by Sherry on March 29th, 2008

There’s a lot of buzz going on right now about whether or not Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got married. The initial story comes from Star, which is so much of a tabloid that I’d pretty much only use it to line a bird cage, but according to OK magazine, Brad’s rep Cindy hasn’t formally denied the story:

When reached for comment on the rumors, Brad’s rep would only say to OK! that she had “no idea” if they were true or not.

The fact that it wasn’t flat out denied did make my curiosity perk up a bit so I’ll be keeping a close watch on more reputable sources like People magazine, but in the meantime, it sure would be interesting, wouldn’t it? The story claims that they got married in a ceremony in New Orleans.

I’m pretty well indifferent as to whether Brad and Angelina marry or not because they’re obviously tied to each other through their four (soon to be more) children, but I am a bit on the sentimental side so I would be feeling a little mushy if they did indeed marry!

What do you think? Any chances? If they did marry, how would you picture the ceremony? I see it being something informal, small, private, and definitely highly involving all the kids.

(Thank you to reader Hayley for the info)

This would be so awesome if true, but even if it is not true they are married in the spirit.

I really hope this is true. I believe in the sanctity of marriage specially they have another baby on the way. I couldn’t be more happier if they did tie the knot. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

I am so happy with news..hope it’s true. Just a little mad that Perezhilton added a twist to the story pertaining to what B/A said before about not getting married until same sex marriage allowed. Of course, they said this a a yr or 2 ago but if B/A decide to marry, they have every right to do so. It’s sad how people try to dictate how they should live their lives and outrightly judge them about anything they do/say. I have great respect for this couple. Need I explain why?

Well, I’m never backward on jumping on a happy train! (along with some other pittwatchers!) :)

Love everyone’s ideas. If it did happen, I agree gorgeous girlie outfits and flowers in the hair for the girls, and maybe funky outfits for the boys? Barefoot (humble) sounds good too. But I’m pretty sure Brad was the one pushing for marraige and Angel a little more reticent…

    ‘citing!

Sorry Guys But I Dont Think Its True. They Have A Family And Plenty Of Love For Each Other So I Dont Think They Feel Its Necessary To Be Married

LOL, wrong couple, evidently. Update from the Daily News:

Rumors have been swirling for months that the sexy duo would wed, and there have already been several false alarms.

The Rev. Tony Talavera of the chapel refused to confirm or deny the nuptials Saturday.

…. “Rumors were flying all over the quarter today that Brad and Angelina were getting married,” said Brad Joyner, a shop owner in the neighborhood. “The cops closed the French market to the public. . . . Catering trucks, florists and people with fancy chairs started showing up.”

But, Joyner said, the bride and groom who turned up for the ceremony were not Jolie and Pitt.

ehmmm guys… OK MAgazine!!!the one you are constantly critizising for telling lies! and this time you believe it just because its good news?!
    it was already denied!
and both said they would never marry or marry when all people would be allowed to. both were married and they failed. marriage vows do not change anything. why should they marry? they´re happy.

ei phoebs, you’re right they’re happy but don’t you think it’ll be more happier if they’d get married? brad and angie can change their mind/perception about marriage anytime if they want to.

i see your point, but i can´t think of them beeing happier than now:)
Angie glows and the family looks perfect. i think marriage is not necessary, but i agree with you it would be nice anyway.

Well, I’m not really fussed either way, it’s kind of refreshing seeing a family thats ties are made of love, not bound by vows. Shows that both partners are there because they truly WANT to be there, and that their children are the first priority.

A wedding would be fun but not really needed. I’m not really surprised this isn’t true! Totally agree with all your words, Phoebe :)

I have to believe that it would be a small intimate but beautiful affair. Brad has already done the HUGE wedding deal, but Angie hasn’t. So I think it would be somewhere in between. I also think it would be in New Orleans, but with Brad’s family and Angie’s brother James there. But as lovely as that is to imagine, I thnk they already consider themselves as each other’s spouses. We’ve heard George Clooney refer to Angie as the wife. A piece of paper doesn’t mean a whole lot unless you have love, devotion, and committment to back it up. Look at Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. Or Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend.
    Cheers to all
