Sneak peek of Brad Pitt on Oprah

November 18, 2008 by Sherry

People.com has a great clip up featuring a sneak peek of Brad Pitt on tomorrow’s episode of Oprah – you can see it here.

I personally love the part where Brad says Shiloh is going through a Peter Pan phase and refuses to answer to anything but “John” or “Peter”.

Brad says that’s the sort of thing that is cute to other parents but obnoxious to the rest of the world. As someone with an almost-three-year-old who insisted I call her “Wall-E” all day yesterday, I definitely fall on the side of finding it cute!

Brad seems to be very pleased to talk about his kids. You can see the pleasure on his face. Life is good. Limited but good.

  2. angela says:

brad really loves his kids and i’m sure he’s enjoying every single moment of fatherhood right now.

  3. kim says:

  4. fan says:

that was soooo funny!I cant stop laughing!!!!

It may sound stupid but since i never watch Oprah’s show i dont know where will show it and when!!!
So if anyone can tell me i would really appreciate it!

  5. jacqueline says:

sooooo funny; Brad tells it so funny:
    Shi would you . . . . . .
    JOHN I’M JOHN !!!!!!!
    O . . . Jo-hn, would you like some orange juice?
    NNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
am so glad he’s getting the funny side of having kids

  6. gena says:

Their kids are at the really funny stage. They seem to love every moment of it. Just think the last time Brad was on he was talking about wanting children. He got his wish with a beautiful and amazing woman. His eyes are so blue. The mustache makes his eyes stand out.

  7. gena says:

Oprah seems to be enjoying the visit very much. It is ashame that she is not objective enough to invite Angie on. An interview about her movie “Changeling” would have been very good. Especially since O believes in the independent woman. To review how women were treated at that time, the emotions of losing a child, Angie talking about her mother. Recipe for a good interview!!!!

  8. le says:

Just love the two video. My hybby too always forgets something when we travel. It seems like every man does not pay much attention to the details. My two children too sometime want to be call by the cartoon name such as Kung fu panda.

  9. Fan from Vietnam says:

Kids say the funniest things and with 4 young kids who can speak and two more who will start speaking in a years’ time, I can just imagine it is full of laughter in their house. My four year old boy at home is the funniest person in the house and everybody loves having him around.

A couple of days ago I saw an interview with the cast of Oceans’ Eleven when Brad was still with Jen. When the interviewer asked each of the cast members what was the one thing that they wanted the most, and Brad’s answer was “kids”.

Brad now has what he has always wanted in life. So happy for him!

  10. BlessBrangelina says:

The interview is really cute! Shi is too much “No!”
Can’t believe am actually going to watch Oprah.

  11. Lucy says:

Thanks for the clips. I am pretending to have a doctor’s appt tomorrow so I can leave a training class early to watch this interview. Oprah starts at 3 pm in Orange County. Very funny and you are right guys, his eyes get bluer when he talks. I can’t wait until he takes that moustache off.

  12. mélodie says:

i think i’ve read somewhere that toddlers favorite word is no!
i love the way brad told the story, it’s as if shiloh was really saying it. so funny. looks like shi is such a handful little girl.

  15. susie says:

From the clips I can tell this is going to be one awesomely funny interview. Love how Brad just lights up talking about his kids. That must be what Angie is talking about when she mentions “the love in his eyes”. It’s truly a dream come true for him and they are living the dream, even if it is so confining.

  16. Mary Ann says:

Look forward to the interview this afternoon. This morning when I went on People.com and was reading about Cody leaving last night and after the article they had comments. Well I just could not believe that one commenter went off on Angelina. Enough is enough, I agree with all that say that this situation will affect children down the road when they are surfing the web, or go to school and have their classmates talking badly about their Mom. Mind you I said Mom, because seems like Brad is completely blameless in all these peoples minds. Thanks God Brad and Angie do not read these things. I love the Jolie-Pitts and that will never change.

  17. mélodie says:

hahahahaha! do you see the new cover of us weekly? it’s becoming REALLY R.I.D.I.C.U.L.O.U.S!!!!! i ask myself how people can believe these stuPid stories???? Angie got naked to seduce brad, OMG (lol).
it’s seems like we are going back in 2005!!!!

fortunatly, we’re used to see that kind of S.tupid covers! i can’t believe it!

comment under mod about he new us weekly cover (hum hum)

  20. Neela says:

Mary Ann … I am with you. I like Brad a lot, but I do feel people give him a lot of pass compared to Angie.

JJ just posted the new US Weekly cover. I’m disappointed with JJ for pandering to sensationalism just so he can increase more hits on his site. I guess it’s business as usual for him.

The only magazine I would give any credence to is People. US Weekly has been as guilty of fabrication as the lowest tiered rags. Of course, US Weekly would play up Jen’s Vogue interview and the revival of the triangle 05. I read one of the comments on JJ, and the commenter mentioned that if Angie’s “naked antic” on the set of MAMS happened or supposedly happened, then, that would have come up 4 years ago, when this triangle mess occurred, not now. To say the least, you know there would be people buying into every line of unnamed sources in the US Weekly article.

  21. Neela says:

I’m definitely watching Oprah today. I like her a bit, but I don’t watch the show often. But I can’t wait to see Brad talk about his family.

  22. Marilynn says:

haha I love his interview with Oprah. ZZ is so cute. “dog poo!” lol.. kids.

  23. Snowy says:

me, too I dont watch Oprah but Brad??/ Yeah I watched him Oh it was so cute when he talked about his family and that woman asked to show his tattoo and Brad wont do it blushing and laughing…. I enjoyed the interview… Cate is pretty, too….

  24. angela says:

i just did watch oprah earlier. brad was pretty funny when it comes to his kids. he did mentioned angie a lot of times. :)

  25. Randi says:

Wow – I watched it and WOW. Awesome. Wrote the full transcript too – my fingers are tired LOL. Did you catch it Sherry?

  26. Neela says:

    SHOUT OUT TO CHRISTINA!

So, that’s what you look like :) I’m always curious about what we all look like.

Christina, you were very cool (cool as in awesome and cool as in confident) and funny. And you put him on the spot about the ice man tattoo! That gave me a chuckle.

Thanks for representing Pittwatch and JP fans :)

  27. Neela says:

K, one last shout out. Christina, again, you were just awesome! Brad’s reaction when you came back on was just funny. You held your own. I know some people go ga-ga when chatting up a celeb, but you were simply cool.

Btw, I’m not sure if you’re reading this, but I hope you will drop by and read this.

  28. Neela says:

I guess I’ve become stalkerish of Christina. I’m not. Hehe. I’m just excited that one of us skyped Brad on Oprah.

Just wanted to let you know that you’re now on Huffington Post. I was just scrolling to read the news, and there you were next to Brad.

  29. angela says:

neela, i agree, i’m also curious on how all of us look like.
big wave to christina – the don’t let me go to the tummy tattoo comment made me really laugh.

  30. lac says:

Great interview. Brad said sweet things about Angelina and funny stories about the kids

Christina thanks for asking the question we all wanted to know. Too bad he did not answer the question. Maybe when he does a magazine interview.

  31. I wish Oprah or one of the viewers who Skyped the show had asked Brad whether or not Shiloh is indeed in CCOTB! Anyway, I love his response to Oprah’s question about whose hand is on Angie’s breast on the W photo. “It’s definently one of the twins”. LOL! Brad, you’re hilarious!

  32. Under Mod- My regrets that Brad wasn’t asked the one thing all of us Pittwatchers want to know about CCOTB, and my thoughts on how funny Brad’s comment about the nursing picture on the cover of W is!

  33. Oh, and I have just gained new respect for Oprah after reading the transcript of this interview, because she didn’t ask Brad any questions about Jen and/or her recent Vogue comments. Considering Oprah is good friends with Jen and took her side when the divorce first happened, I wouldn’t have been surprised if she had asked Brad those questions.

  34. dianad1968 says:

joliepittfanatic, This show was taped before Jen did her interview. It was taped the day after the election.

  35. erika says:

Oprah thakyu for invite brad to your show. but im so upset cause i cannot wach the show . i was late toget home do to traffic . but if you please replay on your youtube with complete all the show on 11-19-2008. i will sooooo thank full. once again thnkyou soooo much to you . God bles you. please im wething.

  36. eliza says:

Oh my goodness did you guys see the actual interview? I thought it was so awkward. He’s adorable talking about his kids in the same way my husband or any father is. But he strikes me as so inarticulate compared to aj. He really jumped out of his league when he snagged her. And I just thought he looked over made up, over tanned, and botoxed or something He’s obviously a sweet dad, but is that so unusual? Also, they are not confined or limited. Sorry about the paps but I have two year old twins, and there are much more challenging ways to be confined. I’m not trying to offend anyone, but it just seems like you can’t be a fan on here unless you think they are perfect in every way. They’re just people like us but with lots of money and total freedom.

  37. Ligaya says:

They say the grass is always greener on the other side . . . ;-)

I really loved loved loved Brad’s answer to this question.

JEAN: My question is, and I know you’ve been talking all through the show how your life isn’t like others with the fame and the paparazzi and I was just curious, if you could go completely unrecognized by the general public and by the paparazzi, even if it was just for a day, how would you choose to spend that time?

BRAD: Good question. I would…first of all congratulations. I would like to tear down my fences. I’d like to tear down my gates. I’d like to be able to see my neighbors. I’d like my kids to be able to run in their yards and their yards and our yards and wave at every car that went by. That’s what I’d do. Maybe barbecue…see the ice cream truck..you know.

  38. Ligaya says:

“but it just seems like you can’t be a fan on here unless you think they are perfect in every way.”

This isn’t the first time that something like that’s been said here. I think it’s untrue, unfair and one-sided. Maybe that’s true of some people, I don’t know if that’s even true of most people here – maybe you should take a poll before making assumptions and generalizations. And you’re saying that Pittwatchers are one-dimensional people who can’t be critical thinkers and fans at one and the same time.

Take me. I know they’re human, so I know they don’t sh*t gold and that it stinks, they pee piss not perfume, they fart, have crud in their eyes in the morning, all sorts of the usual human gross stuff. They look nothing like they do in movies and photoshoots. They don’t know how to cook – flaw. I wish they’d be more consistent with making sure all the kids have helmets and lifevests all the time every time. And I notice the kids squinting in a lot of the photos. When my mom had her eye operations for macular degeneration, her doctor told her it was important to protect the eyes from the sun even as a baby. So I wish the kids had sunglasses and they wore them every time they went outside. I also hope all the kids have sunblock every time they go outside – even black and brown skin get sun damage and skin cancer.

I knew Angie wasn’t a vegetarian. I was a little surprised at first that she let her kids eat junk food. But who am I to judge? I know all about healthy nutrition, I was even a vegetarian once – but I love junk food and meat. She’s not raising her kids like Madonna and Gwynneth are raising theirs – but there’s no one size fits all, right?

See, I don’t “think they are perfect in every way.” So take that back – at least when it comes to me. ;-)

  39. Neela says:

Amen, Ligaya. I’ve seen comments on here from fans that don’t always approve of Brad and Angie’s choices–i.e. fashion, junk food eating (as Ligaya mentioned), thumb-sucking, etc.

People (fan or otherwise) can express whatever they want here, but just don’t expect not to be criticized, as with ANY forum or thread. It’s okay to disagree, we all just need to be mature about it ;)

  40. Ligaya and Neela, I agree! I don’t think the Jolie-Pitts are perfect, after all, nobody is! I am also one of those pittwatchers that never criticizes them. However, that’s not because I think they’re perfect. It’s because, when we see a picture, we’re seeing literally about five seconds of their day. Unless Brad and Angie tell us themselves, we can’t know the story behind those pictures, and the reasons behind their choices.

For example, maybe the boat they’re on doesn’t have life jackets, or maybe they’re trying their darndest to break Z, Shi, or whoever of habit of thumb-sucking, but it’s not working.

Therefore, I choose to reserve judgement.

  41. Ligaya says:

Exactly, JoliePittFan. Maybe a place doesn’t have enough or any kid-size helmets or life jackets. In a lot of less developed countries, that’s the case. And I can count on more than enough people criticizing Brad and Angelina – mostly Angelina – justifiably and unjustifiably, that I really don’t need to. ;-)
