Something light for the weekend
Remember when Ryan Seacrest and others like him launched the term “metrosexual”? There’s a new buzzword on the street according to this site - the Heteropolitan. They say a “heteropolitan” is today’s modern man who is clean living, hard working, and puts his family first. Basically he’s the grown up and respectable version of the “lad” or “bad boy”. The heteropolitan is the bad boy turned husband and dad.
An example of the heteropolitan? Brad Pitt, naturally.
With Angelina Jolie he has to take care of their adopted children Maddox and Zahara, and their own child Shiloh. But he seems to love the fatherly role. He’s often pictured playing with the kids.
I don’t know. I like the description but heteropolitan isn’t as slick as “metrosexual” was. It doesn’t roll off the tongue and it seems to exclude all the great gay men who are also wonderful partners and fathers.
But I’ll take it because heaven knows I’m a sucker for a dad and his kids.

When I think of the bad boy type the first men that come to mind is Colin Farrel and Kevin Federline. Ick! Not Brad Pitt.

Heehee, Cali Girl - I don’t think they were really saying Brad used to be a Hollywood bad boy, just comparing him, like he’s what the bad boys would be if they’d grow up and lay off the partying and whatnot.
I don’t know if K-Fed counts as a bad boy either - I think he may be too lame to be bad. :P
I wonder what we could call Angelina. She was definitely a bad girl once who is all grown up now. What term could go well with Heteropolitan?
