The likely reason Angelina Jolie is adopting without Brad Pitt
A quick trip around the Internet will show you there’s more speculation and gossip online than any high school ever had. Everyone is chattering and creating hooplah because of the announcement that Angelina is filing adoption papers in Vietnam as a single parent instead of jointly with Brad Pitt. The common reaction is that “clearly” their relationship is about to fall apart.
Everyone eager to gossip monger could avoid giving themselves an aneurysm if they’d do their homework. According to this guide for Americans adopting in Vietnam:
Vietnam law permits adoption by married couples (one man, one woman) and single heterosexual persons.
It sounds to me like they aren’t eligible to adopt together because they’re not actually married. Once the adoption process is completed, Brad will be able to adopt the new child through the US courts because then he/she will be a US citizen, just like he did with Maddox and Zahara.
Tsk. So much drama for nothing!

Your interpretation is correct. They can’t adopt jointly from Vietnam because they aren’t married.

Then why not just get married and make it easier to adopt? Since they’re soul mates and all..what’s the big deal about a piece of paper/legal doc to save the children. This is a PR stunt. Angelina needs to recoup her image after her spate of bad press (also has a new movie coming out soon). Just like she adopted Zahara amid the Brad/Jen split to distract from the fact she slept with a married man (something she said she’d never do). NOthing new here..it’s a photo op. Mia Farrow, Bono, and many other celebs never bring their own camera crews with them to capture their “goodness” on film.

Sherry and Brangelina fans,
There are always tabloids against whatever Angie does because a lot of JA fans still hope Brad to go back to his ex. Even the cover of Star this week is “Brad’s secret love note to Jen.” The tabs are desperate and negative headlines against Brangelina evidently sells, so ignore, ignore.

First of all, congratulation to your new volunteering job! You are very professional! I like the reflective way how you bring in news and especially gossips.
Angelina Jolie seems not to care much about wrong interpretation especially when it concerns herself and her image. She is too much other-oriented. Sometimes she needs people advocating for her.

Yup! the reason why angie adopt as a single mother is becuz the law only gives permition to married couples and single parents. angie has done this stuff to get mad and Z. so it’s gonna be lot easier if this time she does it at the same way. and after the kid is legally become US citizen than brad will file for adoption paper for the kid just like the way he did to mad and z. that “simple”.

That’s right! because they are not married.. I’m sure they have a great plan, once all and done, Brad will petition for a name change… yes, I want them to get married soon too!!

I guess there will always be such people. But I don’t think Brad and Angie should marry just to please others. That would be the wrong reason for marrying. They have both intimated that they “feel nothing is missing from” their relationship. They “are commited to each other and their family”.
That’s more important to them.
I do agree that Angie needs an advocate, it’s really getting ridiculous the rubbish attributed to her.

Laura raised an interesting question; let’s feel free to debate it but please remain respectful to everyone and all the different opinions.
Personally, as someone who has two children but is not married (we are common-law spouses) I don’t exactly think it’s absolutely necessary for the two to marry. I figure Brad’s been married once, Angie twice, maybe they figure paper wasn’t the most important factor.

I see the newest headline is that the adoption goes against Vietmanse (sp) policy, yes they allow single parents to adopt but not those single parents that co-habitat to adopt. should be interesting to see what happens with this tid-bit. As for them getting married, it makes no difference these days I know people who spent a lavish amount of money getting the piece of paper only to divorce in a few years and those who live together for 30 years. I myself have been married for 25 years - it’s work (a relationship) whether you have a piece of paper or not.

Sherry …ITA being married does not mean that one will be a better parent or partner. I will love Brad and Angie regardless of their marital
status because I feel that they are truly committed to each other and the children. I wish

Both People mag and US Weekly covee stories this week is the impednding adoption of the 3 - 5 yr old boy from Vietnam. short articles online are available, People mag is much friendlier than US Weekly

People mag is not considered a tabloid. The tabs are National Enquirer, Star, Life and Style, OK magazine, US Weekly, In Touch and many more that are not very reputable. Sometimes, websites publish tabs from London (very notorious for scandal) Australia, Asia whose credibility and sources are questionable. Be very careful what you read.

Lucy, I don’t think I said that people Magazine was a tabloid. I am fully aware of what the tabs are, was just pointing out that many many sources are jumping on the adoption bandwagon.
I believe I wrote that Grazia mag is a tabloid…see other post under “is AJ to thin”

Thank you Sophie for the clarification. Don’t you just hate those grocery tabs? I haven’t even seen the Grazia magazine. Those tabs seems to go back and forth between Jennifer Aniston, Brad and Angie triangle when there is no such thing anymore. Everybody had moved on still they are exploring any type of negative aspect they can fabricate revolving around Angie, Brad and their kids. When I saw the lovely photos of them strolling in New Orleans on tv, I did not realize that there were about 15-20 photographers who were there taking those photos.

hey its layal from lebanon ..i see that angie is a beautiful and hot lady.. and she deserve all the best in her life..sure that she was and still crazy and made insane things in her life but she nerver heurt any creature on earth shes a real angle wherever she did or want to do. i wish her all the happiness with her new family and the genlte man pitt .. and so she get a success mission, the one shes talking about (doing a good things to people and learn from them the best ways of living and help them) ..god bless you all ..with my best regards .
