Trailer: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
They’ve released a new trailer for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - and it’s much more detailed than the first one which only piqued our curiosity (no pun intended!).
It looks fantastic! I love movies that are different and original. Brad Pitt is going to be amazing in the role of Benjamin and I’m eager to see it. It opens on December 25th, which is unfortunate for me since there’s no way I’ll be able to see it then, but I know Christmas Day movies often do quite well and this should pull in a lot of people.
What are your thoughts on the trailer?
(It made me laugh that as I was typing this up, Entertainment Tonight was playing the same trailer!)
Thanks to reader 804 for the heads’ up!

After watching the first presidential debate here in the states, and mulling over the most serious of issues, the trailer was both refreshing and intriguing. Thanks for making it available, Sherry.

Seriously this film is going to be beautiful. I read somewhere that it’s an early classic and I concur, (maybe NYT).

I adore Brad, but…the movie looks just plain wierd. I don’t think I’ll go see it. The trailer made me feel creepy. Sigh…maybe by then I can watch Burn After Reading again on dvd instead.

I’ve had that thought many times: that Angelina is with a man who resembles her father! Classically handsome blondie. I sure hope that doesn’t mean the relationship will go the way of Angelina’s parents!

So sorry to learn about Paul Newman he was one of my favorite actors. Will miss him. Love to see CCOBB when it comes out. I just might go to the movies. Don’t do that that often.

What an interesting movie, looks like Brad has done a good job on it. I also feel bad about Paul Newman. What a nice man and human being. RIP
Off topic, the other day when I was trying to see the pictures of the Jolie-Pitts landing in Germany, I saw some headline about Brad and George C. It said that they were not speaking to each other because they both want the same part in My Fair Lady. That is so unbelievable to me, and I wondered if anyone else saw that story?

Paul Newman fell in love with Joanne when they were shooting a movie while he was married to his first wife with 2 (or 3) children. Joanne was a promising actress given an Oscar before she met him. They were big stars at that time and the media attempted to destroy their marriage with various break-up stories but it lasted for 50 years. They lived their private life with 3 daughters outside HW. He started his large charity after his son from his first marriage was killed by drug use. They were very family-oriented people, selfless philanthropists and loved making films without big egos as HW people have.
I saw their candid interview several years ago.
Joanne is very honest and an ourspoken person while Paul is a little bit shy but they shared same sense of humor and same purpose in life.
Something very similar to our favorite couple.
R.I.P to a great family man , a great philanthropist and an excellent actor.

Whenever James MaCvoy promoted Wanted the media asked about Angie and he told Japanese media that Angie is a very humorous person and he very much enjoyed working with her.
Wanted was released on 20th of Sep and topped weekend box office with $7.2mil (much much bigger than The Dark Night with $4.1mil open in Japan)

Thanks for the report sunny. I love it when Brad amazes his fans with his many talents. He is not just a pretty face in Hollywood for sure. Burn After Reading is the opposite of his character in this movie. Angie and Brad are truly artists.

I am looking forward to see this movie and I miss them so much. I also think we will not see Angie until she lands in New York!

Is she obligated to be at the premiere in NY? If she comes you would think that she would be promoting the film in other ways to make the trip worthwhile. I would guess she either makes a quick trip by herself (and the twins if she is still nursing) or they all come and get some other business completed. If Brad is already working on his movie, he may not be able to get away. Anyone heard anything about other engagements for either of them in NY?

The trailer looks wonderful. I went back and read the short story. It mad me cry sooo bad. If you want to be surprised then I don’t recommend you reading it. I found it so profound. What an amazing journey for the character. It mad me think about the possibility of that happening, and what your life would be like. I have said it before and will say it again. This is truly a great year for Brad Pitt; personally and professionally. His career is really hot right now, and his family seems to be the most important thing in his life. I believe when you do good, good comes to you. I will be at the theater opening day. I will always support the Brange. Fans made BAR a huge success.. Let us do the same for their next two movies.
I can’t wait to see Angie next week. I hope Brad will be able to attend. I think for fans and haters it is hard to handle not seeing them together. They rarely have been apart since their relationship began; only a few days a time not together. I know it is hard to move 6 kids around. And Angie’s press junket will only last a short time. It may not be worth all the effort to pack up the whole family, but they do all try to stay together…Time will tell.

This movie looks beautiful. It’s nice to see Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt back together again — they were great as a dysfunctional couple in Babel. When I first heard of the movie, it reminded me of a book called _Time’s Arrow_, by Martin Amis, which is about a man who experiences his life backwards, from death to birth — you guys should read it! Plus Eric Roth, the screenwriter, is awesome, so I’m expecting good things (he wrote Forest Gump among many others).

I hunger for films like this. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich, etc. These films are like a “good” knock against the head and when successfull allow us to see the important things in life from a truely unique and fresh perspective. Really looking forward to this and The Time Traveler’s Wife.

Yes, I remember that, Cristine. It will be great to see both Brad and Shiloh in the movie.
I miss Angie a lot, too. Can’t imagine it has been 3 months since we last saw her pictures. The twins should be around 3 months old now. Hope they are all doing fine.

I read the novela and I can’t wait to see the movie. I have to say that Brad is an amazing actor and definitely very handsome. It gave me chills… wow. The other night I was watching a program on PBS and this very familiar voice came out of our TV. Brad is/was the narrator for this series on this project in Egypt. One the architects that is involved with the New Orleans project is working with Brad on this public park in Cairo. Brad never cease to amaze me, he is truly a Renaissance Man.

Hi (popping head in)! HEADS UP: CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON clips shown by CCBB screenwriter Eric Roth (Forrest Gump) at the Mill Valley Film Festival (SF Bay Area) this Saturday. Actor TARAJI HENSON (Hustle & Flow, Something New) will be there too for Q&A. Director David Fincher was invited but no word whether he’s coming.
TRIBUTE TO ERIC ROTH, Saturday, October 11, 4:30 pm, TRIBUTE AND PARTY $60 TRIB11P, TRIBUTE ONLY $25 TRIB11R, Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center

His most recent project brings to life the F. Scott Fitzgerald story The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, about a man who ages backwards, directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Taraji P. Henson (Hustle and Flow).
MVFF’s Tribute to Eric Roth opens with clips from his career, followed by an onstage interview. Next comes a special viewing of clips from his latest film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Finally, Benjamin Button co-star Taraji P. Henson joins Roth onstage to discuss their new film and engage in a Q-and-A with the audience.
New York–born writer Eric Roth realized every screenwriter’s dream with his Oscar™ winning adaptation of Winston Groom’s novel, Forrest Gump, an immediate Hollywood classic with some of the most quoted movie dialogue ever. In Gump, Roth masterfully captures turbulent times in American history, from segregation to the civil rights movement to the Vietnam War and the Watergate scandal, in a uniquely humorous manner, through the eyes of a simple man living in a complex era. Roth continued this visionary approach in adapting The Postman and The Horse Whisperer for the screen, following them up with further success in The Insider, Ali, Munich and The Good Shepherd.

The trailer was so dark it was really hard to tell what was going on…I hate movies that have dark lighting..but I’ll def. have to go see it anyway cuz Brad’s in it.Hope it’s not dark all the way through, some light would be nice so in the younger(older?) scenes we can see Brad’s handsome face.
