Two videos of Angelina Jolie in Iraq

by Sherry on February 7th, 2008

I was able to find some video footage of Angelina Jolie in Iraq.

While she was there, she dropped by the heavily guarded Green Zone in Baghdad where she had lunch with some American soldiers.

She spent the day in meetings to discuss and appeal for more international aid to be provided for the millions of Iraqi refugees, displaced both within Iraq and in other countries.

You can also see the interview CNN did with Angelina Jolie during her visit, discussing what her intentions are, what she wants to see done, and what she hopes can be accomplished.

What you won’t hear is where the interviewer attempts to ask about the Brangelina pregnancy rumors.

CNN: There are reports out of Hollywood that… (laughs)
Jolie: Oh don’t. Stop it. (interrupts I had to ask) Stay true to your tradition. You’re CNN. Don’t do it!
CNN: I know that’s why I have to… (laughs)
Jolie: But I don’t have to answer. OK?
CNN: No you don’t. I completely and totally … you’re right and will not press the matter.
Jolie: Thank you.

Angelina deflected the questions. I mean really, we’d all love to know if she is expecting, but I think it was highly inappropriate - especially for something like CNN - to ask personal questions in the middle of an interview about something as serious as refugee matters. I wish I could say that this would get some of the naysayers to stop saying she only does the humanitarian work to boost her star power (when it’s really the other way around, in my opinion) because if that was the case she wouldn’t have minded personal questions, but she was very intent on keeping the conversation on topic. Good for you, Angelina!

Passerby, that’s my dream too, see her & Brad in person. Maybe, when they go back to NOLA, I will ask my husband if we can drive there, who knows I will bump into them while in NOLA. That will be awesome. Thanks Sherry for the video clips. Goodnight. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

This Is Why I Watch CSPAN And Not CNN. Media Outlets Are Becoming So Tabloid Like. Shes In Iraq Rallying 2 Get Help 4 Refugees And Visiting With Men And Women Who Are Risking Their Lives In War And The Reporter Asks Angie About Her Pregnancy Rumors!!! Its Really Sad That Anything Angie Said B4 That Was Virtually Ignored By The Reporter. I Dont Mean 2 Rant But Like I Said If U Want The Real News Watch CSPAN

That’s very wise of her. it proves that angie indeed cares about the issue and not risking her own life to go to a place like iraq for photo op.
i agree with tenika. the personal question was just beyond silly.
    God bless her!
she sees people not by the color of their skin or what they believe in. May God protects you always, Angie!

The interview is good, I like the joke that CNN does and it is so typical for her not getting angry and just laugh it of. Hopefully she returns save and has a nice trip!

A few years ago I thought that Angelina was a very Kooky person and didn’t have a brain in her head. I became interested in her when she and Brad hooked up, because I thought, oh boy another Hollywood romance that will go down the tubes real quick. But then we started seeing pictures of Brad with Madd and that little boy looked so happy, and then we started seeing pictures of him, Angie and Madd, and I thought, my goodness what a cute family. My interest became deeper and deeper. I watched these two video’s and it reinforced my thoughts, that this is one smart women. All the facts she must absorb and retain on a daily basis in order not to look foolish in front of world leaders. She wants to be recognized as someone who does good works, and she deserves to be. I can not think of enough good things to say about this couple.
Bless them and their family, keep them safe on their travels.

Angelina has always been amazing - even when it seemed that she was kooky she was never afraid, and was kicking convention HARD. I understand her way….
