Video clip of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie signing autographs at Changeling premiere

October 5, 2008 by Sherry

Wow. Realistically, I know that there’s always pandemonium when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie show up on the red carpet together. However, when you only see the photos of them, it can look relatively calm – you see the swarms of cameras sometimes, but when they’re frozen in time, it’s almost serene, the way they stand and pose in that regal way they have.

But then sometimes you get to see something like this video clip of Brad and Angelina signing autographs for fans at the Changeling premiere, and it makes me wonder how celebrities of this caliber can get through an event without having to breathe into a paper bag to keep from hyperventilating.

It must be so insane to be standing there and having hundreds of people scream your name, all hoping that you’ll turn for a picture or pause to sign a poster. It’s almost surreal.

I’m sure some people will be curious as to why, at one point, Angelina Jolie apologetically says she doesn’t sign blank sheets. I remember reading somewhere – this was years ago, I don’t even remember which actor said it – that a lot of celebrities flat out refuse to sign a blank page. They’ll sign posters, photos, books, shirts, some will even sign body parts (within reason!), but not blank sheets. The actor said it’s because it’s very easy to take a blank paper and turn it into something else later, attaching a celebrity’s signature to a petition or cause, making it look as though they agreed or promoted something that they may not believe in. That makes a lot of sense to me!

I wonder what Brad and Angelina are doing with the kids today to unwind from a busy New York City night!

Sherry, thanks so much for giving up so much of your weekend and probably not being able to have alot of family time because of it. To your husband and children thanks. Funny usually on Saturday and Sunday it is quiet here at Pittwatch, but not this weekend. I hope when they leave the city and go to Germany we will be able to see them out and about. I wonder if Brad will be able to have time to take Madd to Mars 2112. My granddaughters have been there and they say it is a “cool” place to go. Again, Sherry thanks so much.

thanks sherry. angelina is right not to sign blank pages, if i were a celebrity, i would always be worried someone was trying to set me up ,and/or get me to sign up to something controversial.

oh yeah I agree with Mary Ann about Sherry giving up her weekend with family…. I m sure the fans like me really appreciate this wonderful site! Thanks Sherry for the great job!
    Beautiful couple Brad and Angelina!!

  6. Susan says:

OMG I can’t imagine being under seige like that, people are really pushy. My hat is off to them for even doing the autograph nonsense. Angelina looks great, I am so glad to see some weight on her again, she looks healthy and radiant. Brad ain’t half bad either. Just watched a River Runs Throught It again yesterday, never get tired of that movie.

That is beyond insane. Man, if I were them, I just would not even walk near fans!!!! Those poor people are mobbed everywhere they go. Can you even imagine living like that?

With all the excitement, i forgot to thank you Sherry for all great work you do for Jolie-Pitt fan. Here is what Clint has said about Angelina premiere:
Clint Eastwood thrilled by Angelina Jolie’s star power at ‘Changeling’ premiere

Clint Eastwood and Angelina Jolie attend the premiere of Changeling at New York’s Ziegfeld Theater on Saturday.

At the New York Film Festival with his tragic drama Changeling, the director watched Angelina Jolie walk the red carpet amid explosions of flashbulbs and breathlessly shouted questions. “It’s a phenomenon. She just gathers attention. … If I ever run for office, she could be my VP,” he joked.

  9. Passerby says:

Sometimes I wish to be part of that mob to get to see Angelina and get her autograph but other times I feel bad and dont want to be part of the mob.

I wonder if Angelina Jolie has a address we can send prestamped enevelopes and pictures to be signed.

Mary Ann – Don’t worry, my family didn’t have to sacrifice too much! Most of the work I did on the site was when my kids were sleeping. Also, much like Brad and Angelina, my husband and I trade off as needed. He produces music so when he needs to record vocals in our in-home studio or needs to put on headphones to mix something, I entertain the kids. Then, when I need to work on something, he takes over and gets them involved in something.

I’m just happy to have such a great community going on here, and I’m thrilled to do it!

  11. I echo Mary Ann. Thanks so much, Sherry, for your great work. We really appreciate it. Coming here is like a little treat to me!

Sherry you are such a generous person for giving up your time for this blog. These are great photos and video of them at the red carpet. Oh how I miss these couple. I wondered about that too when she said, sorry I don’t sign blank pages. Thanks for the information. She is not only drop dead gorgeous but smart too. I like her dress. They looked so in love.

  13. Neela says:

I don’t often express my gratitude, but I echo the above sentiments. Thanks, Sherry. You keep up with the blog even at the risk of receiving some flack from trolls and detractors. Thanks for everything.

  14. aileen says:

Brad and Angie look gorgeously spectacular and still so much in love. Angie looks great in the black dress. Love all the gorgeous big photos, Thanks Sherry.

  15. Shannon says:

I was there! Let me tell you that its not quite as crazy as it looks in this clip. And I had a blank page and Angie and Brad signed it! It was all I had!!! I have magazines, but not with me. :-( They were kind and gracious and went down the entire line of fans. Yes, it is chaotic, but not ridiculous…at least not where I was standing and I was on the front row against the barricade.

  16. Chris says:

does anyone know when they will be in nyc in 2009? for autographs and pictures? PLEASE!?!?!
