We know who Brad Pitt is voting for!

October 6, 2008 by Sherry

Now that the Changeling premiere is over and red carpet events have wrapped up, Brad Pitt was spotted in New Orleans. We can presume that Angelina Jolie and the kids are with them as well, especially since they do have their own home there, and we all know how much they love New Orleans.

However, even if the rest of the family is still recuperating from the excitement of New York City, at least Brad has Barack Obama to keep him company - or at least a sketch of him. He was seen riding a bike while carrying a notebook with a sketch of the Democratic presidential hopeful.

So while we don’t necessarily need to know which celebrity is voting for which candidate, I’d say we definitely know who Brad is voting for!

Check out the photos of Brad Pitt biking around New Orleans with Barack Obama!

i assumed brad (and angie?) were going to vote for obama. even though angie has said she’s registered as an independent… three reasons:

    1. their lifestyle is liberal.
    2. brad’s good friends clooney and damon are pro obama
    3. jon voight is republican…and we all know that angie and her dad don’t seem to value the same things in life :)

    good analysis? :)

This is going to be one of the most important elections that we have had for a long time. I wonder if we will see any pictures of Angie and the children. From the past they always seemed more relaxed there and the other citizens on NOLA always gave them their space.

Mary Ann- Check out Just Jared for pictures of Angie, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh. I can hear the negative comments from retractors in my head, but I am ignoring them.

i wouldn´t say that, although it does sound logic:)
Brad doesn´t vote for a person because his friends do so. Angelina is not that shallow that she would vote different than her father just because they are estranged. about the liberal part - i agree, but its the political point of view we must anaylise. political goals and especially the goals in humanitary issues. and aren´t both parties against gay marriage? that would be something the JPs and politics don´t agree….
Angelina made a wise choice in not telling the public who she votes, Brad should have done the same IMO. its their choice, we have to make our own.:)

@ Phoebe hm, i’ll have to clarify some things :)

first of all, i don’t mean that brad will vote for obama just because his pals will. that would be kind of childish. i was more thinking that clooney’s and damon’s political views indicate brad’s political views.

second of all, about angie and voight, i was being ironic… :)

i think it’s a good thing when famous people take a stand. especially as you say, this election is so very important. we need change … (sorry if we’re getting too political sherry :))

    hi oneworld…:)
i already thought that you meant about George, Matt and Brad what you said in your second post. i agree, that would be childish indeed. i just think that especially Brad and George have different political views, but thats more an opinion of mine, no proof.
sorry about the Angie and her dad thing, but some people actually think so (!)…i definetly don´t and now i know that you don´t either;)

i just have the feeling that many fans are indeed somewhat influenced by their idols choice. not necessarily all fans! but i have witnessed that many fans chose the candidate their idols chose and have actually NO clue about the political goals of the candidates. i was really shocked - it was not on here btw…people her are great;)

i hope you didn´t take my post the wrong way, it wasn´t meant offensive:)

I love the fact that he is riding a bicycle. And he looks mighty good doing it too, while saving on gas, which makes it even better.

  10. Rach says:

Brad and Angelina should vote for Obama. He seems more suitable than McCain that’s for sure! I can’t see Brad and Ange voting for people who are so right-wing. Pro-war and against same sex marriages. Which is everything they’re not. Amongst other things.

  11. Lucy says:

I think celebrities should not endorse a candidate openly. Sometimes, it can backfire on them. I vote for the candidates who I think can best serve this country. Brad or Clooney or Damon have nothing to do with my decision at all. Angie is wise by saying she is undecided.

  12. Ligaya says:

I think it’s fine either way. Ordinary citizens can be very active and vocal in electoral politics, and others think it’s nobody’s business but their own who they vote for. Same for celebrities. Paul Newman was a strong campaigner for presidential hopeful Eugene McCarthy - he was even a delegate to the Democratic National Convention.

I’ve said before that I think Angie’s wise not to be partisan, because otherwise it might compromise her advocacy work on Capitol Hill and elsewhere. She’s respected and taken seriously there, not only for her experience and knowledge, but also because she’s bi-partisan.

  13. Ligaya says:

I forgot to say that when asked by a reporter if it was appropriate for an actor to become active politically, Paul Newman said that he didn’t think he should be disnfranchised just because he was in the acting profession.

  14. BlessBrangelina says:

I agree with that assertion by the late Mr Newman.

It’s annoying that detractors insist that somehow entertainment types by default loose their rights as a citizen, and therefore are not allowed to express an opinion or vote a certain way according to their beliefs.

  15. Mary Ann says:

dhc, I had some time on my hands last night so after looking at the picture of Angie and the kids dumb dumb me started to read some of the comments which of course many of them are negative. These people sound like they are living with the Jolie-Pitt family and see all meals that are served in their home. They make it sound like they all eat junk food at home all day long. This is a way of life with these negative people, they kick their kicks out of writing this trash, because otherwise they would not even being reading or writing about a couple they can’t stand. We here at Pittwatch for the most part all feel the same, we are big fans, sometimes we disagree on some things, but we are all polite and respectful here. And the ones who are not we will just ignore.
I am so happy that Brad and Angie feel so comfortable walking around in their neighborhood in NOLA. I believe it is because the people there are just trying to survive and don’t have stars in their eyes when it comes to celebrities. They appreciate the good Brad is trying to do there for them. Our own government let those people down.
