Will Brad Pitt crash into the Bermuda Triangle?

The latest movie buzz is that Brad Pitt – through Plan B – has purchased the rights to the film Dark Void, a story based on a computer game.
Often I am hesitant about any movie based on a game. I’m a bit of a gamer myself and more than once I’ve been disappointed by the film adaptation of a video game because it just doesn’t always translate well. However, this story sounds interesting (I’ve never played the game).
It’s based on a pilot who crashes into the infamous Bermuda Triangle and wakes up in an alternate reality with highly advanced aliens threatening to take over a much weaker Earth. Filming would tentatively start in January of next year in parts of the U.S. and Europe.
There have been questions as to whether Brad Pitt will star in the Dark Void movie, presumably as the pilot, or whether he’ll simply produce it via Plan B. It could be an interesting role if he decides to do it, something a little different. I would imagine that it would depend greatly on the timing and whether it would overlap with anything that Angelina Jolie commits to as far as film projects go.

Never heard of the game, so I can’t comment too much. And I really should catch up on his other movies before I get all excited over a new one. I agree that it would most likely depend on whether Angelina has anything coming up.. since they never work at the same time. Tomb Raider was great, and that was based on a game I believe. Never played it, but heard that people really like it.

Well… I’ve had to use the cheats and walk-through guides.
I rented it when we got our Wii awhile back and it was pretty hard. Kind of scary too when things run out at you but I like that!

Hm.. maybe I will check that out. I do love action games, stuff like GTA are my favorites. So maybe I will like Lara Croft too. I’ll definitely need cheats too though. Thanks for the info.
Regarding Brad’s beads.. yeah they have been there for a while. People were thinking the kids put them in, but, I don’t think they did. It could have been Angelina’s doing. I don’t think they would have come out like that if it was done by 4&3 year olds.

Ok- ive never played this game so i have no opinion on a movie based on it. However, i do have an opinion on lara croft, tomb raider. I am a huge gamer. And a huge croft fan. Lara croft is the ultimate video game heroine. She is sexy and tough and very smart. If you have not played this game, you should!! She is the reason i am a fan of angelina jolie. Angelina jolie BECAME lara croft for that role and no actress on the planet could have played her better. Tomb raider is not just any old video game. Its iconic. And so is angelina jolie.

‘Did you read the latest Angelina Jolie gossip?’ All over India these words can be heard. From Mumbai to Delhi, from Bangalore to Pondicherry. India is the latest country to succumb to Angelina fever. Local publishers have realised that in order to sell their magazines it is essential that they have Jolie’s picture on the cover.
‘Once men dreamed of their wives and girlfriends looking like famous Bollywood actresses, now they want them to look just like Angelina’ noted Indian based social commentator and advertising consultant Swaran Aneesh. ‘Any movie that has Angelina in it is booked out. Indians have long had a fascination for Western culture and Angelina also in many ways conforms to Indian notions of feminine Beauty ‘.
Not all are happy. Some local Hindu nationalists see this as an encroachment by western decadence on traditional values and have issued bans on the publications that keep stoking the ‘Angelina Jolie fire’.
There are pictures of Brad at JJ arriving Yesterday in L.A from France. He looks mighty fine, I wonder where the Jolie-Pitt’s will be spending their Thanksgiving Day? God bless them.
From what I’ve read, The Tourist (which is apparently Angie’s next movie) is scheduled to begin filming in February. However, I’m guessing that, if Brad IS indeed starring in this movie and not just producing, it won’t conflict. The reason being that the post makes it pretty clear that he just recently purchased the rights. I don’t know all that much about movies, but I DO know that it generally takes at least a year or two from when a studio buys the rights to a movie to when the movie actually begins filming.
Plus, I would imagine that Brad will probably do Lost City of Z, and possibly Money Ball, before this movie as well. Therefore, I doubt this movie will actually start filming for another couple of years!
katiebell- I don’t think Angie would be very pleased with Brad doing that to you! LOL!
UNDER MOD- I don’t think this movie will begin filming any time soon…..
I wish Brad will get rid of that beard.
joliepittfanatic – I agree with you. I don´t think that the shooting of this movie will begin any time soon. Maybe later next year after Angie has finished her work with The Tourist. I´m not familiar with this game – Dark Void – hut I think that it´ll make a good movie IF Brad will star in it. I loved Lara Croft movies and have watched them many times. Angie is really great in them both. Off the topic. Just watched the latest pics of Brad landing to LA and felt really bad for him. Although he must be used to the fact that the paps are following him everywhere I can´t imagine what it must feel like. He must have been tired after flying from Nice, France to LA and the photogs are on his face the minute he lands. He certainly got a very warm welcome from his kids when he came home. Hopefully the whole family will soon return to France for a short break and hopefully they´ll spend the holidays in France too. God bless the JPs!

i too never heard of that game..?? makes me wonder about it.. but i agree with joliepittfanatic that this film would not start filming soon, Angie has signed the Tourist and imbd.com is reporting they would start filming Tourist in Feb next year.. and there’s still too many movies ahead for Brad right?? oh well..
Sherry and Jah – I have played Tom Raider many times! and i’m pleased to say I haven’t used any cheats while playing it! haha! my brother wouldn’t allow me..

The reason no one has played or heard of the game is because it has not come out yet. It is due for release “in January of next year,” according to an article on the Simply Brad website. Not sure, but that could even mean 2010. Movie companies buy properties well in advance of actually making the films. Sometimes the films don’t even get made. Brad bought the movie rights to A Mighty Heart when he was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Look how many years it took to be made.
Last comment is awaiting moderation. The game is not due for release until “January of next year”. That might mean 2010 or 2011, not sure.

I am not into games, but my daughter and her family are. Even the kids, so they would probably love that movie when it comes out. Does anyone know where The Tourist is being filmed? I can just image all the stories that will circulate about Angie and Johnny. They both live in France part-time to give their children a chance to live normal lives. I guess we will have to clinch our teeth and get through all the BS stories.
